I've been looking around for a while online today and cannot seem to figure out where to get the best deal from, most the sites seem to offer only bundles and all of the bundles seem very similar, also what is the advantage of the PS3 slim and also what is the hardrive on them used for? is a 250 gb very necessary ?

Amazon have the 120GB slim version, with a free HDMI cable and a game from a selected range for £249.99. Fifa 2010 is included in this range, so it's a pretty good deal. There is a couple of other bundles available on other sites, such as game, but you don't usually find the games you want in the bundles!

Don't get hooked up about the GB of them, pretty sure you can just hook up an external hard drive to them anyway

http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/596159/SONY-PS3-SLIM-250GB

Looks like it's in stock to me as the 3 options bottom left have green ticks.

You might get a comet voucher  http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2103139&highlight=comet+voucher&page=51

If you buy via a cashback site (quidco, topcashback etc) you'll get it even cheaper.
