Would there be any interest in having a fantasy prediction league of all results for the World Cup?

Stages for the league:

Group
Last 16
Quarters
Semi Final
3/4 playoff (if still exists)
Final

And each participant predicts the exact score of all the games, and would earn points, such as:

Group stage:

- 5 points for score spot on
- 3 points for right result + score of one team correct (W/D/L) , e.g. england v usa, you predict england 3-0 usa, but final score is england 2-0 usa, you would get the 3 points
- 2 points for correct result, e.g score you give predicts a draw, but you predict 1-1, but it is actually 0-0
- 1 point for having the total goals of one team correct but the result wrong, e.g england v usa u predict england 1-0, but the score is actually 1-1

Last 16, quarters, semi final 3/4 playoff, final, the points will be worth more (will decide if any interest obv)

However, the only problem would be whether people will be able to give their scores inbetween group stages and each of the knockouts, as the grp stages could of course be given now..

and make the buy in like $25 or something, and structure the pay out accordingly. Also bonus X amount of points for predicting the winner, and the top goalscorer.

Think it is clear enough, and free of any flaws.

Betfair did a prediction league thing for the Euros in 2008. Any word of them doing something similar this year?

I have already set up a World Cup Predictions League to help raise funds for my daughter's football club. It's £10 to enter with cash prizes for the top 10%. Full details can be found at www.leafieldathletic.co.uk/predictions. You are more than welcome to join and your support would be appreciated.

If you have any queries just let me know.

Cheers...

I've not had any interest from blonde for this. Is that because it's not +EV due to the fundraising element?

As I will be running this anyway and doing all the admin would anybody be interested in having an additional "side bet" just for blonde members who join the league. My thinking is that any blonde member who joins the prediction league and pays the £10 via PayPal would obviously still be eligible for the advertised prize. However,  there would be an additional side pot (say $20 each?) all of which is returned as prize money to the blonde winners. I can work out some way of identifying the blonde members in the league standings.

Let me know the following:

1. Would you be interested?
2. What should the additional blonde buyin be?
3. How should the payout be structured?

If there is any interest I will sort out the admin and start to collect the monies.

Details of the league can be found at http://www.leafieldathletic.co.uk/predictions

OK I am happy to run this. To register select the "New User" link from here and complete your personal details.

Details of the league can be found here

The total amount will be £10 + $20. The £10 entitles you to the prize pool displayed on the website and the $20 will all go into the "blonde" prizepool. The number of blonde players paid will be dependent upon the total number of blonde players and will be decided before the start.

Payment options:

1. £10 via PayPal here plus $20 transfer on Full Tilt or Stars to sharky_uk

or

2. $34.50 transfer on Full Tilt or Stars to sharky_uk

Please PM me once you have transferred so that I can link the payment to the predictions user.

Any questions please ask on here or via PM.

Cheers....
