Was kind of hoping it would be some nice old lady who made a really brave gutsy 'no deal' - but it appears its just a mad old woman who mindlessly refuses to deal because she 'knows' she will win a 24-1 shot.

the fact that she is given the option to swap means that it is no longer a 24-1 shot
Why ? She still ended up with only 1 of the 24 boxes.

Sandy

at that stage its 50/50

If I go on I hope I get box 24 - it's my lucky number.

The point of the Monty Hall swappage is that the show presenter picks a door to open and that door will always be one that doesn't have the prize.

Most of the time I will offer people £20k as the banker.

Most people won't risky £20k on a 50% chance of winning £250k

£20k is way too low. I know very few people who wouldnt risk £20k for a 50% chance of winning 250k. And i dont mean rich poker friends, i mean family members and other friends who just get by. its just far too small a figure. £50k and we might be talking.

fwiw i just watched todays online. It was great, she was just the sickest, she was sat there smiling as the figure was about to be revealed.

There was a guy on the show once who snap-dealt the first offer for 6k or similar low amount. I couldn't believe it. All that time doing the shows and he snap-deals the first offer he gets. What are you doing man?? He had the smug look of a guy who thought he knew something you didn't, a real shrewd operator like. After he dealt he hit blue after blue after blue and had all reds left. The big offers kept coming in, all well in excess of his pezzy deal amount. That was the best episode I found myself lolling every time yet another blue was opened. That guy must have felt like the biggest nit in the world.

Prob third offer then I don't watch it much. But why deal so early so low when every big amount is still in? I didn't see the granny flip for 250k but can only applaud her degen attitude.
