I can't believe all the garbage posted about 'evolution' on this thread already.
People are talking about 'evolution' like its a proven fact, but it's just another type of 'faith' like my faith in God. Have any of you ever seen evolution? [ ] Yes. If I asked you to show me evolution could you do it, right in front of me? [ ] Yes. Why aren't there loads of half-humans half-monkeys walking around? Did they just get wiped out to make room for us? Don't be ridiculous.
Ask any atheist about how evolution is supposed to have 'happened' and they'll rant on about selection and gene mutations like we're all in some big Xmen movie. But how was all this supposed to happen? My pastor, who is also a registered scientist, explained it all to us in terms of the eye. How did they eye ever happen? Did we just have holes in our face for ages and then useless balls appeared in them and then one day we woke up and we could see with them? [ ] Yes.
Watch what language the scientists use, they talk of the '
theory
of evolution' And that's all it is. Just another 'theory'. Like they had a 'theory' about the earth being round [ ] Correct. Like they had a 'theory' that Classical Physics was a good explanation of the physical universe [ ] Correct.
Don't trust scientists and evolutionary people! They all hate god and create 'theories' to try and remove him from the history of man. They are just trying to replace your well-founded religious beliefs with their latest 'ideas'
Thus truth is replace by a lie and God is replace by idols.
Romans 1:25
All that guff to say 'my theory is better than your theory' even though your theory is based on a storybook, large parts of which (especially creationism) can be torn to shreds by a 10 year old.
THe evolution theory is no doubt imperfect but better than the idea that sloths left the ark on Mount Ararat & walked and swam all the way to the Amazon.
[ ] Not having the mental capacity to imagine the long drawn out process of evolution disproves it.
[ X] I don't either when you get to specifics, but I'm not diving for the bible or the Koran to explain it to me.

Well it's a theory I don't adhere to, but you do, so it's for you to explain it to me, not for me to accept it because you think it 'sounds better than my bible theories.'

Yep
but also
Not having the mental capacity to imagine the long drawn out process of evolution but accepting it anyway is different from biblical faith how?

X factor is over, Cheryl Cole has had her hair cut, Ali and Brian have been sent home and we only have 1 week left of Strictly so we are struggling for new convos at the clinic. Out of nowhere this came up...evolution.
Assuming we evolved and did not get created on the sixth day (although man was created and then woman which proves that God was leaving the best till last) most accept that we evolved from most recently the ape/monkey.
Can we assume that other more primitive life forms are still evolving and may become similar to oursleves? Have we slowed down, becoming lazy, eating fast food and generally slowing our evolutionary way only to be overtaken by another life form in the distant future?
In other words is Planet of the Apes a possibility?
To get back to Dell's question, I doubt it - simply because we've cut the apes off at the pass. Simply put there's no room for them to overtake humans. Were we all to leave the planet one way or another, then possibly, indeed probably, there would eventually evolve sentience, even more than one type - one of which would win through (as Homo Sapiens did against the Neanderthal).

It's not for me to prove to you. But when people are discussing the theory of evolution & you but in & start shoving your counter theory down their throats then it's for you to prove or start a seperate thread.
The difference is that I have got the mental capacity to grasp the overall theory, just sometimes my wonder at the complexity of life blows my mind & I regress to the primitive 'there must be an intelligence to have done this'. I can however see the evidence and consider the evolutionary theory the best one out there.
Anyway - back to the sloths - some journey the 2 of them made.....

Exactly. Pick up a rock, and look at it. What evolutionary science is saying is that we started out with just a rock, not even mould or nothing, just a rock, with a bit of water and salt on it, not even protein or nothing, and from that bit of dead garbage, we got.........people.
Oh come onnnnnnnnnnnn! Do these people still believe in Santa?

This is very interesting, please expand on it, especially the Neanderthal bit.
Personally, I don't think present day apes could evolve into humans, it would probably be impossible, the genetics just wouldn't allow it. But anyway, because we now exist as humans, it might look on the surface like that is where things were generally gonna end up, rather than what is the case, namely that it was a series of bizzare, incredible flukes and coincidences that led us to come down from the trees and develop huge brains for our body mass. You need a certain set of random mutations, with a given set of specific niches, you also have to end up walking upright (so you can use tools) and you also have to (amazing fluke) have a set of genetic mutations that lets you be able to rear young up til 12-13 years (since by walking upright you no longer have a birth canal that can give birth to live young that both have big enough heads for the intelligence you need, but who are also capable of living without help from their parents soon after birth).
Homo sapiens are a total fucking oddity.
All that other shit was a level, sorry. I thought kinboshi was around...
ps I don't think we came from orangutan or gorillas, but a common ancestor of each, maybe that's what was meant.

Google 'ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny'. It has been rejected in its earliest form but some of the basic ideas still hold.

This is very interesting, please expand on it, especially the Neanderthal bit.
Remains etc found indicate that Neanderthals & Homo Sapiens co-existed in Europe for approx 20,000 years. There's generally disagreement about the amount of inter-relationship between the 2 species & what killed off the Neanderthal - going on the evidence of man's inhumanity to man I doubt a different sentient species would have been warmly welcomed into their caves....

The new ep of life on iplayer is about primates, on it they show a group of chimps that use tools in a way thats unique to only their group. Maybe this group could evolve over the next 100k years to use their tools better and develop new techniques for various things.
We don't have everything figured out...who knows what might happen, I hope one day to be un-ageing and fighting a war with the chimp people with laser guns.

Just caught up with this thread. Lol. Just lol. G1btw you are a total clown. I have never read such garbage. The fact of the matter is that there is very compelling evidence of evolution. Your arguements make you sound like a very narrow minded individual. I have lost any respect for you as a person having read your posts. Just lol
