Doctor Girdlestones,

Good luck with this if it's really what you want. Your work and weightloss stuff is definitely more important so def bol with that - hope it really takes off for you in the new year.

You do mention that you're on a losing run and have several leaks in your game yet you're playing £150 & £300 comps, which isn't exactly peanuts to people our age. However, to play this kind of stuff and expect to have a positive expectation you should be putting a lot of effort into your game and I never see you really posting on PHA.

Most of the guys who are winners on blonde will do things like read 2+2, get involved in PHA, have a training site subscription and dissect hands with each other. I'm sure if you were to put some effort in and build your way from smaller stakes you'd be able to do it.

One day you might even be as good as The Salfi.

The leaks i mentioned have just crept into my game that last few tourneys ive played....little mini things like not betting flops when i should. I played a few £150's and £300's as i thought the better standard would help my game as i would be less likely to get donked on by muppets. Quite honestly the ways that i have been eliminated from these tourneys are pretty standard beats. I looked at these games as giving it a shot to try and win big which hasnt happened!

I never post on the PHA cos the few times i have done i have been 'mocked' for! So id rather not post on there! I do often talk hands through with people tho. Like i say im trying to play poker as a social aspect rather than looking at it as a way to make an income from. Thus i dont wanna subscribe to a training site cos really i cant afford monthy subscribtions.

2010 is my year to concentrate on things other than poker! I may still play the odd game but i hope my plans work out and i wont have time for any poker whatsoever!

Cheers

Many still feel that way Girgy, but it's been a lot better the last few months. Now there are many more explanations rather than the easy rubs & sarcasm there used to be. It's improved immeasurably, & there is some superb stuff on there now, & a wider range of Members getting involved.

Pretty sure it's not just the last few games you've played. I remember talking about one hand with you and it was the AQ you folded pre to Lawrence Gosney which was a pretty massive error imo.

I don't wanna de-rail the thread as the Girgy is an excellent excuse maker (again, imo) but getting bashed on PHA was pretty much why I stuck with blonde. Everyone thinks they are good at poker, just like I did when I joined. It was only til I got bashed a few times that I really did realise that I had a huge load to learn...and still do. Not posting on there is giving up too easy imo.

Anyway Dan, will defo be a shame to not see you at DTD as you're a good lad and good banter.

Good luck in 2010.

Sure was to Mr Gosney!

It was his BB but was an opened pot that i had no info on as i had just been moved to the table, I agree it was a mistake to fold as the action panned out. Were not all a golden boy like you!
