Dont use all your 25's when betting 300. They are chips, just leave them in nice stacks.

Do keep all your chips in one stack at the start, you should only have different coloured stacks when you have enough to warrant it.

And when you are chipped up don't keep them in stacks of 10. Nothing says beginner more than a wall of chips stacked 10 high. Stack them in 20s or 40s. By all means try higher than 40 but it's a skill if you don't want them all falling down.

Would be nice to have this problem

3 rules of playing live:

1. Always announce what you are going to do before you put your chips in
2. Try to wait until it is your turn to act (or close to it) before you take a look at your hole cards3. Don't piss on your own headphone wire

Interesting one this - I've always done this but recently a well respected player told me he always looks beforehand so there is less chance of people watching him when he's looking at his cards. I think I give too much away in any case so if I had a monster and looked early doors then I would probably give too much away.

I don't look at my cards as I am too busy trying to get a drink out of Kin.

Don't need to worry Tracy we can all see when you have a big hand anyway....

But if you look stright away and See  you start thinking how much to raise by..on other hand there is a rasie and a flat call and you look at  you can chuck them in the muck a lot faster

You sure should chuck away  when there is a raise and a flat.

Its very hard to stack on the recovered tables at DTD  Cry

I managed to stack 5 piles of 20 the other night. All directly on top of the chip underneath, next to each other at the bottom, and none of them touching at the top!

The ones without a rail around the edge? Yeah, they're not as good Sad Wonder why no rail.

I assume its to rectify the issue with cards disappearing into the edge of the table.

First of all, relax and enjoy it.  No matter how many times I play live I cannot get rid of the shakes, and I only play occasionally in the DTD £25!

If you do this don't worry though, just have a beer and look at the lovely valets (when not in a hand).  Best tip I can give you is to pay attention at the tables.  Try not to do what I did in the first 5 minutes and call, not realising there was a raise beforehand.

Remember, there is hope for us all, I came 2nd in my first live one at DTD for £750 so get out there and bink. (blatant brag post)

Have a good time.

This is actually good advice. Good way to calm the nerves if you're new to the game.

1. Visit the toilet early as they will be full 10 minutes before start.

2. Dont tell anybody that it is your 1st time

3. Dont look at the amounts on the chips - remember how much they are yellow 25 - black 100 red 500 green 1000

4. if your hands shake sit on them.

5. 1st level ; raise in late position occasionally if no previous raisers - with any hand.

6. If you get AA or KK raise 4x pot

7 You more than likely will not win but just enjoy it - when you get eliminated remember there is always another game.

I dread to think what doing a StuartHopkin involves

I think people may pick up its your first time, so you may aswell tell them, get a bit of banter going and some grace on any ettiquette mistakes etc

Please please please dont do number 6!
