Snowball and Myself will be heading in at 10pm, there are tipped to be around 2000 fans heading in with 500 already there just now!
can you explain why you'd do this please. it's something I've never understood to welcome him to celtic, the bigger the welcome the better chance he will work harder for us/want to win for us/and sign on with us next year. I've been into parkhead a few time for things like this, once to see the return of henrik Larsson when he came back with Barca to train at the stadium, they opened the stadium to the fans that night. How the hell didn't michael owen get us 50 goals then FFS  Seriously though i don't get this either but i'm lazy so cba |

Do people think Spurs didn't want him to go to a prem club,otherwise WTF  More like that no other premiership club wanted him as he has been absolutely terrible all season, barring 3 games. I would imagine there's at least half a dozen clubs minimum who'd want him on loan. I wonder if he's still a massive liverpool fan |

Superb signings for Celtic i think Keane will score goals for fun in scotland and all the fans over here are buzzing. Kamara too if he stays fit will be superb.
Dave who you think will pair up now way Keane?
Kamara and Rasmussen up front with Keano in the hole! The problem is, Keane cannot play the player "in the hole". That is why Benitez never played him, and why 'arry has bought in Gudjohnsen. Keane is best feeding from a target man - see Berbatov - and playing off of the shoulder of the last defender. |

Liverpool...
Spurs again...
he's average at best but in the league one equivalent he will score goals no doubt about it but so would Emile Heskey.

I am not a Celtic fan and if I was I'd be happy to see a player of his quality at the club but I think it lacks long term vision and I also think they have made too many changes in the January window. They won't even be able to cash in on his name fully as there will be new strips for next season. |

I am not a Celtic fan and if I was I'd be happy to see a player of his quality at the club but I think it lacks long term vision and I also think they have made too many changes in the January window. They won't even be able to cash in on his name fully as there will be new strips for next season. It's obviously not long term thinking (why else would Celtic pick up £50k plus per week?) but this is an excellent piece of business. As a 30 year old who is playing like an idiot he will devalue more than £1.5m in four months sat on the bench at Spurs and he knows this. Good work from Harry too in getting himself some better money for a "proven goalscorer" in the summer. It all depends on how he takes to the fans/city etc etc but right now I doubt this is something he'll be happy to do in the long run as a permanent move. This is more like Bellamy going there to get himself a good deal fruther down the line but I hope I'm wrong. |

It is good business for Keane and Spurs but I was questioning whether it's really good business for Celtic, I think not. |

Probably short term thinking businesswise - BUT the long term thinking last season gave Rangers a lifeline we need to deny them this season. The renewed interest in Ireland and the renewed enthusiasm in the support will cover the costs of this - so in the short term it should be successful. Also raises the profile of the club down south just as the reality of the financial crunch is biting, a bit more of a long term thing. |

My point was, badly made I admit, if Keane is unlikely to sign for Celtic on a permanent deal (which I think is the case) then what is wrong with £1.5m for four months in the short term for a striker miles better than anything is the SPL?

To get 3.5m for McDonald is a great bit of business, he was only our top scorer scorer because the rest of our strikers were useless. Also if this transfer helps us steal the title from the darkside then it will be the BEST bit of business in years. Also once the summer comes we could sign him permanently. With the amount of players that have gone then this should not affect our wage bill too much. |
