Favourite Comedy must be 'Spaced'.  Ran for 2 series on Channel 4 about 5 years ago.

Very Funny.  The same team made 'Shaun of the Dead'

I love watching the Simpsopns with my kids.I laugh one minute they laugh the next

as for British comedies, can't beat Fawlty Towers, Dad's Army, Monty Python,Reggie Perrin, Porridge

Of the modern stuff, The Office and I still love Buzzcocks and Have I got News amonst the quizzy stuff

No one has made any suggestions that i disagree with really, for me watery fowls is top sitcom.

the office is brilliant.

but the funniest tv ever has to be derek and clive, its fakin funny

some mothers do have 'em, terry and june, george and mildred, comic strip, the young ones, spitting image, man about the house, butterflies, in sickness and in health, little brittain, the fast show etc etc - by god the british are pretty good at this lark!!!!!

Well said newport, spaced is brilliant.
Alan partridge is my favourite though.
Seinfeld is the best american comedy and possibly the best ever sitcom full stop.
