Ran like god yday as I said, today I ran like death. Only today I managed to drop 5 1/2 bi's in 2 1/2 hours. Three hands in I 3b btn QQ, fish in co peels, check/check KJxr, he bets K turn and jams K river, obv has K7os. Ran AQ into A3 vs aggro fish on A10359 board, this was prob the only interesting hand of the lot but pretty sure it was just a cooler vs this villain. AKhh<<<<<<AQcc aip for 110bbs, lost the min with AK<<<<<QJ on AJJ63 board and lost the min with AK v AKhh on QJ9410hhh board. Had 1010<<<<AQ aip for 50bbs bb v btn and 1010<<<<JJ vs aggro fish for 40bbs as well as running J10 into QJ for 40bbs on 1098ss flop. All in all a pretty cold short session
Playing in $/£ and euro's so losing 100bbs @ £ is 1.5 bi's in $.
Going to have some food now and then put another session in.

That's enough punishment for one day, came into the 2nd session feeling good as I knew I'd play fine in 1st session and just ran horrid. Within 15min I finished the session lol. I had JJ<<<<<<<<<AQ vs a villain playing 65/45 for 60bbs £, then utg limps hj peels same villain makes it £5.50 I make it £16 with AK folds round to him he calls. Flop is 862ss ch/ch, turn is a J I c/c 1/2 pot, river is a 5, ch/ch he has J10. Soon after on same table I find AA in sb, folds round to me bb is playing 30bbs, I make it 3 he calls, flop is Q74ss I cb he calls, turn is a J I bet he calls, river is
, he doesn't have much left, I jam he snaps, gg, he has KJss. Down over 7 bi's for the day and I'm pretty certain I didn't make a mistake in any of the major hands. Early thoughts on the standard is there's less fish which I expected but I think the average reg on here is going to be worse than on Stars.

Down 3 bi's today...
KKvKKvA10 aip xxxxA
KK<<<<<<AJ rivers straight
AA<<<<<Q8 villain decides to c/r an 8 high flop leaving less than psb behind, turn Q.
JJ<<<<<65ss I 3b large pre he peels ip flop 655 I bet he calls turn is a 5 b/c, I fist pump jam the 3 river knowing he isn't folding a 6 or better and never has QQ+ nh sir.
Add in QQ<<<<<KK and QQ<<<<<<A10 and guess I should be glad it wasn't another 7 bi losing day.
Nothing I can do about variance so I'll just keep grinding knowing at some point the fish can't constantly run like god against me.

I found a decent website yesterday that costs a little but they have every tv show and since I don't want to download anything it's well worth it. I had watched the 1st episode of Game of Thrones on Sky Atlantic and after getting this I watched another 3 episodes last night, really like it, it has that addictiveness that 24 had by ending every episode making you really want to watch the next one, also the balance between geekyness and nakedness is achieved perfectly imo. Also got about 5 episodes of Sunny in Philladelphia to watch as well as US Office, The League etc etc, happy days.

gl on ipoker m8, iv always found that network to give some of the biggest daily swings around, i mean 15buyin daily swings pretty standard but its ok because the action is consistent (before the bots reduced fish numbers ofc). gl hope u crush.

I've been unwell the last week and a half, there was a bug going round that I obv picked up so last week got written off. I put a session in yesterday but later in the day I was aching all over and felt sick, today I feel like shit, so frustrating. I've made an appointment at the quacks as it's just fukd up how often I'm not feeling well, probably ask to get some blood tests taking to see if there's a reason why I've spent about half of this year feeling unwell, I literally have a week or so of feeling ok then get a cold or some bug again which lasts about a week and have repeated that cycle all year. I had thought it was maybe due to my poor lifestyle as earlier in the year I was drinking a lot and eating too much crap but for the last 3 months or so I haven't been drinking that much and have been eating well and yet I'm still the same.
I always debate with myself whether I should play despite having cold or whatever but it just seems like a bad idea to me to attempt to put a session in when you know it's not possible to play at 100% when your getting headaches etc and just feel pretty lousy, but I know others do still grind when they feel like that. If I was due to go into work I'd still go in but that's an easy job where I can be at 50% and still get the work done. There's been times previously when I've been slack with grinding but that was because I had money and was going out doing stuff, but I really want to grind and put some decent volume in. Maybe I should still grind or am I right too not play when I don't feel so good ?

I read a pretty good blog yesterday by NoahSD of 2+2 about variance in poker (thanks titbean), it's something I find really interesting, for those who haven't read it yet, have a guess at how many hands he says you'd need to play at cash games to know what your true winrate was ? Mtt variance is just ridic. I obv ran like god at the live pokers since I binked a decent sum in the 1st £1k+ event I played and I know that, I think overall I understand variance pretty well. There are so many people in poker though who are just clueless about variance, and I'm not talking about noobs who play the game just for fun. I'm not looking to start a young v old debate but I'd definitely suggest that overall younger players have a better understanding of variance than they old guard do due to online poker, but it's such a fine line between blaming variance and actually just not being as good as you think you are. Speaking of the old guard, I've been watching the Coral LNP series, you've got John Duthie on the one hand who I thought played really well and I'm pretty certain has put time and effort into keeping up with the game, then on the otherhand you have the Devilfish (jumping on the lets all mock the fish bandwagon ldo), seriously though the stuff he comes out with, everytime I've watched him on tv he utters the same phrase " I never get there", and he means it, and I maybe wrong but I woud guess he's put very little/zero effort into improving his game in the last 5/10 years.
