more protein, less carbs, much less sugar imo.

personally what i'm doing is logging everything in myfitnesspal and trying to hit 200g protein and 2000 calories max a day. it's kinda geeky but it really hits home how many calories in say a jam sandwhich and what a fucking waste it is when you could be eating better stuff.

however i have come to realise that all this diet/fitness stuff is psychological, we have a deep routed massive drive/desire to eat and be lazy and it's controlling that that is the hard thing. everyone knows you eat less and move more to lose weight but zillions of people can't do it. that's why i'm reading the steve peters book atm hopefully that will help me to stop eating so much shit.

Always in for geeky Smiley Will take a look.

Yeah I agree, I'm also reading his book, and really enjoying doing so, thanks to Mark Porter on here who recommended it in Tips for Tikay.

So today :

Ate

Breakfast : 2 weetabix with semi skimmed milk and tiny amount of sugar

Tea : 2 pork chops with all fat cut off, small portion of chips, gravy, 2 x white bread with lighter lurpak

Supper : 2 slices of toast; one slice with lighter lurpak one slice with small amount of grated cheese, melted, beetroot and nandos sauce.

Drank

6 x pints of cordial juice
2 x pints of water
4 x cup of tea, semi skimmed milk and two sugars

All above would normally have been bigger portions as well as snacking, so might seem a lot still but like I said I'm not on a mission to lose loads of weight, hopefully I will get feedback from them in the know and if I'm told x,y and z needs to be cut out to improve what I've set out to then I will do that.

Abs lolz that I've somehow managed to find a way of doing daily updates that are more boring than the previous direction of the thread  Grin

Appreciate all the feedback, cheers.

BOOM!

Ate :

Breakfast/Lunch/Tea : 250-300grams Chicken, Buttery mash potato, Roast potatoes, 3 x Yorkshire puddings, Carrots/sprouts/brocolli, Gravy. Also had the skin on the chicken, I'm sure this isn't too good for you but it's just so nice Smiley

Supper : 3 slices bread, 1 1/2 with butter on, Chicken, Grated cheese, Beetroot, Nando's sauce.

I won't bother doing daily drink updates, posted yday's as thought maybe I drink too much water, will post when I have Alcoholaments though.

Oh, forgot the good bits lolz, went and bought some fruit : Bananas, Grapes and tangerines to get started, had a few grapes and 2 x tangerines. Confirmed that's every single thing I ate.

As I've said I'm not doing this specifically to lose weight or to calorie count, I may post Weight loss/gain though just to make it  more interesting to follow, I have no Jimmy Nail's though, that may be a good thing since it means I have to do some walking.

So instead of ragu/dolmio. Fry your onions low heat with some oil. Add mince, and fry, again medium heat, add tin of plum tomatoes (I.E,Napoli ones r gd), some tomato purée, some fresh basil, salt, pepper and some boiled water, cook on a very low heat for about 15/20 mins whilst the pasta/spagetthi cooks. About 5 minutes before u take out, add some curry powder, depending on how much of a kick you want it to have as to how much you put in.

Other sauces, use the base as a guideline, ie Nando
Chilli sauce, tomatoes chilli seasoning some hot water and reduce, should only take 15 mins or so, to do any particular sauce, so IMO it's not going to affect ur grind.

Eat salad, again u can make ur own dressing, just some olive oil, balsamic vinegar salt pepper maybe lemon juice or lime depending what flavours u want. U can prepare salads effort grind, have that with a fillet steak or something, the steak can be cooked on the 5 minute break.

Cut out the potatoes/Yorkshire puddings, less potato more veg....

Last time I went back to see my folks they were using this http://www.silverspoon.co.uk/products/healthier-choices/low-calorie-sugars/half-spoon-granulated-sugar

I have one sugar in my coffee/tea and half a spoon worked just the same with this stuff.

I can try write you out a diet plan/meal guide if you want? It won't be an uncovering of any great new diet plan, but hopefully will incorporate some of the stuff it seems you like and offer alternatives/ways to make it more healthy

I don't have a phobia of the word diet lolz, but like I say that's not what I'm looking to achieve, per se.

Basically my reasons for doing this are; my asthma has been worse the past few months than it ever has been, and it's always been pretty bad, I also get colds and flu's easily more than anybody that I know. This may in part be down to me getting pneumonia 10 years ago, I'm sure my overall lifestyle doesn't help though. So I'm just trying to improve all aspects of that.

I'm definitely overweight, imo probs by about 1 - 1/2 stone, BMI wise it'd probs say 2 - 1/2 stone but I think those guidelines are crazy as I vaguely remember reading that it would be healthy for me to be anything upwards of 10 1/2 stone, roughly. I'm 6'1 ffs.

The side effect of this will be I will probs lose a bit of weight, but that's not the aim. As mentioned my main goal is I want to improve my fitness/stamina levels, so I thought if I put up what I'm eating for a couple of weeks then people would hopefully advise me "do this, that and t'other to improve those aspects" and "stop doing x,y and z".

So if I should cut down heavily on something because it has a negative effect on me improving said fitness/stamina levels I will do it, but I'm not too fussed on doing it to get me to lose 5 stone and look "skinny".

Today's intake :

Breakfast/Dinner/Tea :  300g of mince cooked in frying pan with the infamous Ragu sauce (1st and last time*) with rice and the Indian Potatoes. I only ate about a1/4 of the potato and left 1/3 of the meal, normally when I get to the full part I'd just plough on, enjoyed it more this way, obv.

Supper : 4 x Jacobs crackers, buttered, 2 with cheese on.

Also had a Banana, Grapes and 2 x Tangerines.

Did the 1st Day of the Press Up challenge, did ok, completed it fully and then managed 5 in the last set, so deece start, for me anyways. Fading doing the sit ups for now as it mentions possibility of back issues, which I've had trouble with before, will set out on doing squats instead firstly, will do the test tmoro.

*1st and last time because once I've used the sauces up and do another shop I'll buy the ingredients to attempt to make my own sauces.

Thought I woulld share this recipe. Very tasty, healthy, quick & simple to make, one pot meal.  You do need a good non stick pan though as you tend to get a layer of burnt rice at the bottom.

http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/4815/quick-lamb-biryani

For stir fried veg, you just need combinations of ginger, garlic and chilli imo, not pre-cooked sauces.
