Don't have an HD ready telly at the moment, so not an issue.

There maybe a few withdrawal symptoms with babestation though.

And no more Tikay on a Saturday night either but hey ho everyone needs to make a sacrifice at some time in their lives!

Decided to go with Virgin and bin Sky.

Basically after finding out that Sky will install free a new phone line for new customers, I rang them to see what my 8 years loyalty would get me and basically it will get me a charge of £105 for phone line and a charge of £60 for a home move! no loyalty discount no nothing.

I think i must of spoken to everyone at Sky apart from Rupert Murdoch but they wouldn't budge so Virgin it is.

Bonus is i'm getting more than i have now, V+ box, 2 multirooms, broadband and phone, for £26p/m less than the Sky equivelent would cost me.

You will regret this sir.

Maybe,maybe not.

I've asked around a few mates who have it, they haven't had any problems.

You won't regret it at all. Hopkin hates Virgin and thinks it's the worst of the worst.

It's perfectly adequate as long as you can live without babestation.

Orly!

You might also miss having a good quality picture.
You might also miss having a user friendly menu.

Virgin is tez there is no denying it and its not just me that thinks that.

Im not 100% sure.

Admitedly Im not a TV geek like some people but my parents and a friend have Virgin on pretty good TV's, I just find the picture is not as sharp.

I have an AV nerd friend also and he would not touch Virgin for his TV with a barge pole.

There's nothing wrong with it at all. Hopkin's just got it stuck in his head and won't ever budge cus he's stubborn like that.

I've got Sky and Virgin and can assure you they look the same when viewed through the same TV and interconnects.

I didn't like the Virgin menu when I first got it but I actually prefer it now. It's not as clear but that's because you get to keep viewing whatever you were watching in the corner of the screen. There's more room on the screen for the Sky menu but you can't keep viewing while you flick through the other channels.

Some good points, some bad.

Sweet.

Is that on the new HD box? Mine's only a Sky+ but I'm getting Sky HD soon. This was the only thing I didn't like about it.

I am stubborn yes but this is my true belief.

I still remember the day I had Virgin taken out and Sky put in for the first time.

A toasty day it was and I would never ever go back to Virgin.

Yes. The new HD box menu actually feels like it was created in the 21th century. Does series stacking as well, which is a nice feature. 7 day searching too, which is handy sometimes. And you'll get Anytime, which you may not have had depending on the age of your Sky+ box (my v.old one doesn't have it).

Sky tv>virgin tv

Vigin broadband>sky broadband

Overall

Sky>virgin

I've had both and I'm moving back to sky. Can't wait. Virgin tv is terrible, menu is awful, always having to reset the box and the picture is shite.

Oh, definitely. Virgin = phone/broadband, Sky = TV.

Virgin, where 20Mb means 20Mb:

And that is for the same money I used to pay BT for 2.5Mb.
