If anyone can cope with subtitles "The Bridge" is worth a download.  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1733785/?ref_=sr_3

A Body is found on the Bridge conecting Denmark and Sweden exactly on the border, legs in one country torso in the other, to tell you more would spoil it.
Not done at snail's pace like the killing, and some quality twists and turns.

Since Christmas I've started ripping through episodes of 'The Office US'. I have never seen the UK original so can't compare but it's absolutely hilarious and a real easy watch when in need of a spirit lifter. The more you grow to love and know each character the less they need to do to have you in bits. There are moments where I'm laughing when nothing has been said, you know what they're thinking. Playground antics by grown people in a work place, comedy genius!

Yeah I abs love it, great show, much better than the UK one for me.

May have already been suggested in the thread, but if you like the US office, you will love Parks and Recreation. Season 1 only gets watchable in the last two episodes of it, the previous 4 episodes are pretty slow, and will probably put you off watching the rest of the show.

I am 4 episodes into season two now and I am absolutely loving it. There is one character called Ron Swanson who I think is the funniest character in all sitcoms, and It may be that he has hit me cold but he is awesome.

Will report back on here about the show, but start from season 1 episode 5 and you won't regret the next 6 20mins episodes, probably the other, up to 5 seasons as well.

Helluva a lot of episodes and I am really excited about watching them.

It's funny you've said that because I did actually watch the first 2 episodes of season 1 about a year ago and quickly gave up on it. Might have to revisit it now.

Just got through both seasons of Homeland, I heard loads of negativity towards season 2 but I thought both were excellent. Reminds me of 24

Same as that, not sure what was irking everyone so much early on in the season and really annoyed at such a long wait for season 3!

Hey tv gurus

Just finished season 2 of breaking bad. I find it brutal and uncomfortable to watch but people tell me to stick with it

Thoughts?

Now I like Breaking Bad, but I'm not totally overwhelmed by it in the way some are. That said, I do think it's a very good show and I would definitely persevere with it for sure!

One thought I can guarantee is that you'll be wondering why Walt hasn't slotted his mrs pretty soon Cheesy

Just as an update, I followed thru and 3&4 were much much better than 1&2. The rest of 5 is in limbo till this summer for some reason, so for the first time since series 10 of friends I am up to date with a tv series and will be sweating them as they come out!

I watched over a season of it, didn't think it was that good and stopped watching it.

Finally watched the rest of season three of Boardwalk Empire. Have to say the last two episodes were brilliant and I'm glad I endured what was largely ten hours of mediocre, disappointing script and plot.

I reckon they could have shortened the series to eight episodes and made them much more intense.

I have Ripper Street saved and am told it's even more absurd than CSI in its 'everything's rubbish, this is terrible, is that the suspect?, it might be the suspect, it probably is the suspect but then there's no evidence, omg there's a raindrop over there that proves the entire case'-iness. Will give it a go.

I have watched 16 episodes of Parks and Recreation now and aside from the first 4 episodes the rest are quality. With the moustached gentleman being the funniest character, and the Asian fellow coming a close second.

I have two episodes linked below that are, imo, the best of what I have seen so far. If you watch these and are not impressed I say don't waste your time with any more. So should serve as a nice taster.

The background to these guys is that they are working for the government's parks and recreation dept. and are working towards building a park on a piece of disused land. The comedy obv doesn't come from there, but just the antics they get up to.

Enjoy! (press continue as free user, then the vid will pop up to press play)

I stopped watching Boardwalk for the same reason, and I really can't take a slow build up in any series if it doesn't keep you gripped.

Don't know if anyone's been watching Great Night Out on ITV on Fridays but I abso love it. Follows 4 grown men and the stupid antics they get up to. Funniest thing on tv for me at the moment.

Charlie Brooker returns to our screens on Thursday with a Weekly Wipe series. If you've never his stuff before, this is the sort of thing he does:
