A general query..

You're on the button and the two blinds are playing pretty weakly. They've been at the table for a fair while and as the levels go up it becomes apparent that the player in the seat to your right has taken to raising every unopened pot and is stealing their blinds before you get the chance...

How to respond?

This is brilliant!!

Either 3 bet them or just flat them, or walk over and punch them, your choice.

I hate spots like these where you have a half decent hand.

If we 3 bet we have to forget the strength of our hand and treat it as an atc raise to pick up some easy money.

If that's the case we should be doing it more often with atc but do we actually do that?

Really awkward hand with stack sizes and one of them spots where you almost wish you only had 20 bigs instead of 40 making it an easy shove.

3b/call seems pretty bad, flat or 3b jam as his 4b jam range is going to include a lot of spew overs

You want to get 35 bigs in the middle with a pair of 7's?

Seems very spewey to me.

I would think flat and play a flop with position or just shove the lot in now is better than 3 bet / call. At least we have a chance of getting some better hands or flipping hands to fold if we just stick the lot in now.

Tbh I probs just fold to avoid levelling myself in to thinking my 77 might be good here. It often won't be and with our stack as it is we will definitely find a better spot soon.

if hijack is opening close to 100% and co is never flatting better jammin is going to be +ev.  I dont think flatting is a realistic option here.  you cant set mine cos hj is openeng too wide a range and your not deep enough.  playing for the sake of playing a pot on position might be awkward too with the 20bb stack getting in the way.  idk if 3bet/call > jam, i guess you can make up whatever 4ball ranges you want to argue one way or another.  Without any reads on the players i think folding 77 here would be best.
