I started a thread on here at the start of last season about a referee getting the opportunity to change his decision after a red card was appealed then standing by his decision when almost all of Scotland thought he was wrong. Same again here after Dougie McDonald decided to stand by his decision to red card Scott Brown in Sunday's old firm game. Celtic are fully justified in complaining about this one, don't think there were many people expecting the red card to stand after appeal.
Both Brown and Lafferty warranted a yellow from the incident but nothing else, mind you I'd have no complaints if Lafferty got a retrospective red with a very very very long ban!!

tbh I am surprised you are surprised. The SFA were never going to overturn that decision.

PS Just for the avoidance of doubt, can I point out I complain about Scottish referees when Celtic are winning too  Smiley

He'd be a cinch for biggest wankers XI.

Shocking decision not to overturn though, but if it's the same ref again (which I hadn't realised) then says a lot about him.

Surely this is where Hugh Dallas should be getting involved, taking the guy aside, and asking him to look at his style, and questioning why he still stands by both decisions? If the answers are not satisfactory, and it's hard to see how they could be, then he should be demoted shouldn't he?

Dallas is an ex-ref, they are never going to question one of his own!

Its filth in scotland, and always will be.

An interesting piece in the Racing Post today.

In the last 13 years of Old Firm games Celtic have had 134 yellow cards against them, Rangers 135. Celtic red cards were 11 and Rangers 10.

Dallas was in the meeting with him when he reviewed it, Dallas is part of the problem.

I honestly thought Rangers would get a few ropey decisions against them today as the League is over but it seems not

Answers on a postcard for what the ref gives here

A. a penalty to St Mirren and a Red Card for the statesman of Scottish Football
B. a free kick and Red Card to the above
C. a free kick and not even a word to the defender who stops a goal scoring oppurtunity
D. a penalty to Rangers

Have you got a link for the article? All it really says is that they've had almost the same amount of cards not whether they were warranted or not eg Brown shouldn't have been off at the weekend and Bougherra should.

lol

Weir has been doing that all season and getting away with it.

It should be B, was probably C but would have been D if there was anything to play for.

Yeah would be very interesting to see when these Red cards happened, seem to remember a few Rangers Reds against us when we were a couple of goals ahead and Celtic Reds when the games were tight.
