I'm gonna send mine as soon as the cards are in the air. Gonna be well annoyed if something happens to you before then (like you get hit by a bus or Wadey shoots you with a rifle) and I've no way to get my $$ back.

Wow. That was maybe the most depressing 90 minutes ever, and not just on a poker front.

Just played the omaha event and busted super early (sorry guys).. here is the story..

Starting table - Me, 2 irish guys (one of whom could play, the other was very dodgy), 3 french guys (two were absolutely awful, one quiet but seemed like he could play) and three unmanned stacks (one of which surinder sunar sat down at after 45 mins).

Started off ok, won a few small ones and up to 11k from 10k stack, not much of interest.

Then raised UTG+1 with   to 225 and the french UTG limper calls.

Flop =   - He checks, I bet 400, he insta-calls

Turn =   - He checks, I bet 1200, he insta-calls

River =   - He checks

At this point the only hand I am worried about is 2-4. Obviously he shouldn't be calling the turn with it, but still could have. I think he doesn't have J-Q as he would surely bet the river. So i decide to go for fairly big value bet of 2800. He dwells for six minutes before calling. I flip my tens, which he stares at for a further 20 secs before standing up, slamming down his AA (J6), celebrating and then berating me for trying to bluff him/making a bad bet. Sure - thanks for the nitroll-slowroll-celebration-rubdown/beration. The one good moment was when an irish guy called him a completely clueless prick.

Then lost ~1.5k to surinder with 3-3-x-x vs Q-4-7-7 on Q-4-3-7-J

On a turn of   three diamonds i bet 1100 with   when two french guys check to me. I get one caller and value bet 1600 of my 4200 stack one a   river. He check-raises me all in and shows   when I pass (I really hope he had a 5 with it!)

The last 2600 goes in with   on   three clubs against   x - pair of nines took it on the end.

So, pretty depressing stuff - although i'm actually much more annoyed about the french prick than the poker itself. Sorry I couldn't bring home anything in this one! Fingers crossed for the 1650 Holdem tomorrow!

Thanks for reading Smiley

Just had a shower and was thinking about one of the hands - basically the most interesting one technically, although I have hardly mentioned it above - and one that I played pretty awfully.

5 way limped pot - I have   two spades on the button (pot is 500)

on a flop of   three diamonds surinder sunar leads 500 (pot) from the SB. As the play went then I called after everyone else passed. My thinking here is that anything more than calling is bad - what range does surinder lead from the SB? At the time I thought 2 pair, a set or a wrap. Because he is fairly nittish I am happy to call  - If the straight draw misses he will check with any hand I am beating, bet any hand that is beating me. If the wrap hits and he bets I can pass, If he checks I can re-evaluate (this was my mistake). Can I simply pass here or is that weak? I think it is, but what do we think?

as the action went..

turn   - check-check

river   - he bet 1200, I called (which is obviously bad) - he showed

IMO I have three ways to play this hand, all of which are feasible - would be really interested to hear what u guys think. In every instance I am assuming we see a limped flop.

1. Pass the flop - Surinder is leading a very narrow range from the SB and will often have a set or a wrap. However I don't like this play because we have position. I am happy to call and play the turn in position

And then assuming we call on the flop and see the   on the turn..

2. Bet when he checks - Here I am turning my set into a bluff. I may be wrong, but I think that surinder will bet if he makes a straight on the turn as he doesn't want to give a free card to 2 pairs/sets. It is likely that he would call the turn with Q-Q or 4-4 and a second barrel would be required on the river, but I am fairly confident it would get through unless the board paired.

3. Check behind and give up, folding to any bet on the river.

I am pretty disappointed with my play here, but nonetheless feels like an interesting spot to learn from - let me know what you think.

Unlucky Tom, best of luck Tomorrow in the HE event.

Win mad ones!!!!!

Thanks mark! How are you anyway mate? Feels like I haven't seen you for ages! I remember last time we spoke you weren't doing too well - hope you are doing better?

I know this isn't that part you want to talk about, but I would definitely pass this pre. Very little good can happen.

I am however a raging nit.
