Just giving a bit of feedback regarding the Blue Square GUKPT sats. I would love to satellite into a GUKPT event. The big turn off for me is that most of the satellites are rebuy / add-on events where the winners then get a ticket to a re-buy add-on final. So people trying to qualify on a low budget, such as myself, are severely handicapped unless willing to take the expensive add-on. This, to me, kind of defeats the whole point of having satellites in the first place.
How about something like £10 and £20 deepstack freeze-out sats, with the winners having the option to use their £110 or £220 tokens towards  buying into GUKPT live side events, or to buy into live or on-line GUKPT main event freeze-out satellites.
I just think that reasonably deep stacked, ie-5K-12 min clock, freeze-outs would be a real winner for Blue Square and their customers.

for some reason, murph feels the need to be controversial in every post he makes.
I play all GUKPT's, and despite the numbers for the main event decreasing, (which for me personally is disapointing as i only play the main event) the rest of the tour is thriving.
The sides (especially the £100 sides) have had good numbers and there have been a decent number of cash games running around the clock.
This leads me to believe that the economy is as much a factor as anythign else. Which i guess means that the only route is the satelitte route. But i have sympathy with jon raab and his team, and feel like they are working hard !

as for today GOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGO BRAMMDOGG / PEARLBRAMMER / AJKBRAMMER  .... you get the idea !

Just one more thing I want to add to this discussion now. The tone of Murph's comment suggests we are just sitting about, not doing anything about it. This is far from the case. We are continually looking at what is happenning elsewhere in the UK live poker market, thinking about ways in which the tour can adapt, survive and improve and we will act or react to current situations to keep it viable. We have no laurels and if we did, we would not rest on them.

lol don't worry jon no one was really giving his post any credibility

What exactly is controversial about saying GUKPT online sats system is poor and in need of improvement? Ok I used some descriptive wording but I seriously doubt you would find many who would disagree with the sentiment.Railtard you haven't even had the common decency to respond via pm to explain where you got me mixed up with someone else that led you to previously send me an abusive pm and also be abusive in a thread here, maybe you should get around to that before trying to talk me down further.

The sats thing is self-explanatory,there's really no reason for any tour not to have a decent sats system in place to get upwards of 25% of the field being online qualifiers. It is of course very easy to point to the economic situation and that obviously has played a part in the dwindling numbers, but during times of econimic struggles it only means there should be even more emphasis placed on online satellites.

I have no real desire to get involved with you lot any further,so i'll leave it there.

Murph, I'm not saying you were being controversial, just that the tone of what you said suggested to me that you think we are sitting back and letting it get worse, giving no thought to what to do about it. We are looking into what we can do to improve matters, both for live and online satellites.

the rage - thanks for your very helpful feedback. We currently run three weekly satellites, two of which are rebuys. There is also a network satellite, which is also a rebuy, but we are in the process of requesting that this be changed to a freezeout.

Hi Jon,

I've just had a quick glance in the GUKPT tab on Blue Square and noticed that there are two re-buy feeders to Sunday's £150 freezeout tonight (an £8 and a £10 one) but absolutely none on Sunday. This strikes me as a little odd and perhaps adding two or three super satellites Sunday afternoon (perhaps at 3pm, 4.30pm and 6pm) might boost numbers in the Sunday £150. Something like a £10r a £25 f/o and a £40 f/o turbo? I'll be honest, I haven't tried to satellite into a GUKPT recently so have no idea if there used to be qualifiers such as this and they didn't get runners or if you're resticted by the network on a sunday as they want people to statellite into the ipoker sunday major.
