Join me today from 12pm for coverage of Day 1a of the Poker Stars UKIPT from DTD, motorway trip this morning permitting

Over 200 runners are expected for this first of two days for this £500 NLHE event with 15,000 starting chips and a 60 minute clock

I'll be there til Friday night, then hopefully back for the final on Monday

To date the UKIPT has been a great success. This is perhaps unsurprising given Stars' abilities and brand, and their ability to fill fields with lots of satellite winners. The event certainly bridges a gap between the £100 fare on offer in a lot of UK casinos and the £1,000 GUKPT.

So far the UKIPT winners are

Galway: Padraig Parkinson
Manchester: Joeri Zandvliet
Coventry: Gilles Augustus

but the likes of NigDawg, LeKnave and George2Loose have all gone close for the blondes. Good luck to all the many blonde Poker members playing today.

Here is the UKIPT leaderboard

1 Christopher Brammer    118.75
2 Marius Lietuvnikas    112
3 Jack Ellwood    89.75
4 Joeri Zandvliet    87.5
5 Michael Hill    83.55
6 David Jones    78.5
7 Gilles Augustus    75
8 Michael Graydon    73.7
9 Joseph Grech    73.3
10 Paul Marrow    71.75
11 Tim Brown    71.15
12 Tony Millan    68.9
13 Dean Lyall    65.8
14 Dan Owston    62.7
15 Padraig Parkinson    61.75
16 Andrew Booth    61.6
17 Jenyue Chiang    60.3
18 Julian Hasse    59.6

In addition tonight the side event is No Limit Freezeout (1 Day)   £100 + £12 8pm   5,000 30 Minutes. I expect the place will be crammed to the rafters later!

  I'm here

My aim today is singular and possibly a touch ambitious. To do a better update with more detail than the eight Poker Stars bloggers that currently surround me!

I can do that better if you interact and make it lively.

Think blonde. Think Tighty. Think small (not tighty) and perfectly formed (not tighty)

Let's show the Poker Stars Blog who is tops!

Last night was a blessed relief as for the first time in a week I could sleep unencumbered by the political machinations and nuances bouncing across my brain. Indeed I slept well and was on the Motorway early. I turned on the Radio5Live phone-in and was within minutes tilted by the ill informed half arsed opinions being spouted. and that was just Ironside on the phone.

Today though is a politics free zone, its poker all the way. Apart from the DTD Online bus. A Plaxton bodied 52 seater no less, in black and red livery that I think is ferrying players and staff from the City Centre to DTD and back. I know you really want a picture of this beauty, and I will do my best to oblige later.

I have to say I was at DTD last night and I thought that the poker stars banners looked great and elevated DTD into a world class venue.

NO better place to play poker

Tighty, I will be with you all day (2nd only to playing!), and from what I know of the Stars usual updates you will have no problem with your goal.

GL to all Blondes................. lets see some shippage.

I also had the pleasure of meeting James Keys last night and I feel like a better player already!  Grin

Nine one hour levels today, with 15 minute breaks every two levels and...and I almost fainted when told this...no buffet break. What is a man meant to do without a queue to jump?

Anyway, I'll be here til midnight. So will you, and that's an order.

As I have a Blonde forum account, despite not being a regular poster on here, I hope Tighty can consider me an honorary blonde tomorrow??!  Mrs AMRN wants to keep up with updates, and obviously prefers the Tighty interaction to any faceless bloggers on PokerStars who keep their 'useful' posts to approx 1 every four hours.

GL to all playing today.
