Julian Thew's exit

Despite grinding his short stack up to about 50,000, Julian Thew is now out. Pippa Flanders opened to 13,500 in early position - bigger than a standard raise here - and Thew found ace-queen in late. He shoved. Flanders thought for a while and seemed like she might fold before calling with ace-king.

It was a queen-high board, but Flanders filled a straight, has about 130,000 now

OK two chip leaders

George Kranios. 250,000. Picture a 35 year old dark haired tanned Mediteeranean chap. Immaculately dressed. Lives in Greece, qualified online on Stars where he plays Tournaments. Never played live before.

David Maudlin 300,000. David is a UK circuit regular from Middlesborough

I recount word for word our conversation

"David, your stack has had had a jump up"

"Yes, the last one was quite messy. The player raised with A-J, I called on the button with K-Q. Flop seven high rainbow. He bets, I call. Turn another seven. He bets small, I set him in, he calls. Great call to be fair"

"Oh" I said

"I river a Queen, he wasn't very happy" says David

Chip count for Richard Sherwood. Would be much appreciated.

125,000

I wish I could tell you how, but its too frantic for me to cover much

Anyway as I went to chip count a big hand went off on his table

I arrived to see Cam Law all in with KK, Graham Giles all in with AA and Mark Barsley all in with 88. Giles covered both.

From positional analysis I would say Barsley made the first move and KK and AA were in the blinds. Nasty

Flop K and the audience lets out a roar, Q, A...another bigger roar

turn 10 giving 88 four to the flush and both Kings and Eights a Jack for a split

river 4

Giles gets the lot

correction, David Maudlin is actually Anthony Cartwright.

That he didn't flinch and showed un-erring politeness when I called him David is to his credit, and not to mine.Sigh

A potential winner in the pack - Dale Garrad.  Whos taking bets, I want to put something on Dale taking it down.  He has been quietly crushing live and online in the south for a few years, I think this might be his first foray to DTD and he is going to finish right up there!!
