fwiw pretty sure it's standard pokerstars policy for them to ask if you would like to leave a tip regardless of how much u cash for so i wouldn't get angry that they ask you, you can always just politely say no thanks. found the same at other european events too.
i like to tip but if they have taken a % out of the prizepool for dealers/floor staff then thats more than plenty (only found vegas casinos doing this although i guess it will come to us soon)
another thing which grates me slightly, after gukpt manch i left a tip for the poker staff/gukpt team and was told this wasn't possible, any tip had to be shared amongst all the croupiers and grosvernor managers too. probably should of kicked up more of a fuss about this but w/e i won't be tipping at gukpt events again if my money isn't going directly and exclusively to those that i want to tip (ie. dealers and gukpt team)

Asking is fine imo. Having an attitude because your decline is not.

Absolutely ridiculous tipping for a min cash, would not tip more than 1% either.

I went to a club in Mayfair this weekend and our first round of drinks was £615. When I paid it on my card, our Polish hostess said 'and what about my tip?'
I wouldn't have minded if she asked in a cheeky way or said something like 'and you can buy me a drink' or 'dont forget me' but the direct asking for money shit didn't sit well with me and [ ] she got tipped at the end of the night.
lol what did you expect - she obv pegged u for a mug. never been to an expensive club then? I am absolutely proud to say I have never been to a club that charges that amount for a round of drinks. I'm absolutely proud to say I've never had to bump into you at one. You should be much more proud that you are a big shot who spends £600 on a round of drinks and then stiffs the waitress. I'm not a big shot at all. I didn't like your initial douschey comment when you don't even know me or the circumstances around it. Didn't stiff anyone. I paid a £75 gratuity upfront that comes with the table anyway but wasn't going to be asked for an additional tip for going to the bar and bringing over a few bottles. If you'd pay a tip because someone asked you directly for it then you're a mug, but maybe you are. Not that balla "paid it on my card"

lol true I just thought that getting fired for saying bad shit on a social networking site had become a pretty standard thing. Surprised it still makes the nationals.

what happened to that dealer who came on here bitching about a specific players tip? did he get sacked? memory is a bit vague on this one but it might've been an EC dealer moaning about m3boy

I remember the thread (was the same tourney i mentioned where I was asked to leave a tip) - dunno if it was ever confirmed if it was a dealer though. edit: found it http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=32024.0
