Stared at this thread for a while in the early hours of the morning. Knew I should have bought a piece for $300 and sold it on the next day for $350

Haven't sent Sunday update yet.
I'm out of town and on my phone for internets so it's difficult to send pms.
I get back tomorrow night and will ship the update then.

If you can't wait, I'm doing the money is about the strength of it.

Bertie to end in a few days, profit unlikely.

Had a wee while to think after a recent run of bad form and decided I'm getting out of the online poker thing.

Have come to the conclusion that it's too much of a distraction. I don't tend to do things by halves, I either go at them full pelt or leave them lying on the shelf gathering dust, it's just how I'm wired. I need to focus on my real career path of becoming a teacher, which at the moment involves finishing my studies.

From the financial perspective there's been good times for me (Feb this year I made about $13k, have to give 25% of that to backers, but it's still a nice monthly wage) and bad times (last two months I've made nothing)

Maybe the poor form's been a good thing if it's prompted me to re-evaluate things in this manner. I've thought for a while now that poker probably isn't the best thing in the world and that it's worth concentrating my efforts on other things, but always figured that after devoting so many years to poker that I was “priced in” and it would always be worth my while keeping it on in some kind of part time capacity.
For instance I might be able to grind 10 hours a week, and with the help of various bonuses take home an extra ~10k or so a year which on the surface looks quite toasty.

Kind of changed my mind on that now, after we're finished with this, I intend to give up all serious poker. Never say never but I can't see myself going back to online grindaments as there's too much danger it'll gradually take over my life. It's different for everyone but I know how I'm wired and I need to concentrate on real life career and my family.

I never really enjoyed playing the internet pokers, (maybe I would have been a better player if I did) so it's no great loss.

Will still play the odd comp in a casino for social reasons (such as a blonde bash... ldo) coz still going to stick about here.
I've made some friends here, not bothered that some turn out to be big time grimmers (and small time grimmers) child molestors and *****s. There's plenty more people on blonde that I know are straight up geezers (or the female equivalent of geezer) that I consider good friends (and more still who I stongly suspect are decent straight up geezers and whom  I consider good acquantinces.)

Current staking arrangement

It's gone pretty poorly and, after rakeback offsets things a little,  we're currently down just under 50 buy-ins from our starting roll of $3k.

This is a sharkscope graph of the 800 or so games that have been played. The rakeback is just under $450

Screenshot of balance because that's trendy nowadays and one like to stay as down with the kidz as one can.

Since the screenshots and I had this post all ready, the blonde servers went down for a bit so I played a small session of 7 games in the meantime. Down 5 buy-ins from that session, so at time of posting we're currently down just over 50 buy-ins from the $3k... sigh.

When I started back with the pokers in 2008 I decided not to do any public updates before because of the whole getting it quietly principle. That's no longer as applicable for me (because I'm jacking it in anway innit) and the games aren't really as profitable as they used to be so there's less need to be so hush hush about things.

I'll might as well update here in public rather than send pms then, so I'll crack on with posting results after every session till we're done.

The plan is pretty simple, I'm just going to play on for the next couple of weeks till we get the roll back to $3k, then ship monies back (and if there's some copper in profit, it being unlikely I'll finish a session on exactly $3k, to ship their share of that too).
If any backer wants out at any time, just shoot us a message and I'll ship you whatever the current cash value of the slice is before the start of the next session. If no-one wants to buy it from you, I'll buy it myself.

Current value of slice : $162.27

So if anyone wants to accept the loss and just wants that money back now, contact me and I'll ship it before I start a session tomorrow night.

Two weeks from now it's likely that I'll be starting some sort of real life job starting (wheels are in motion on that front, already had a phone interview). If such a time hits when I have my first day at work and we're not at $3k yet, I'll probably be keen to just ship what we have and call it a day if that's ok with everyone.
Will try to grind hard so that isn't applicable, nice to finish with people not making a loss.

Once I'm all done with the pokers, I'm going to finish off that ICM for fuddy duddies thing that I've had gathering dust on the shelf for a while. It's much easier to take an evening off to do some writing when you're running good, sadly that's not been happening for a while. Soon running good or bad at cards won't be applicable, right now that feels like a liberating prospect.

For what it's worth, you're pretty damn good.  Maybe results haven't been great recently but you were certainly a damn fine player at some point
