Nothing like me


Mind you it reminds me, upsettingly, of an incident in my past.


We all, a group of us, went out for a meal for my birthday. Late teens/early twenties birthday. A curry. The group got me a strip-a-gram. A fire eating Policewoman no less. She was pictured doing her thing (with fire, not me) on my lap whilst I looked on rather startled.

In the background a very rotund Indian Waiter looked on disapprovingly

I had this picture up in a montage in my room at Uni and as the waiter apparently looked extremely like my father who not only looked like Buddha but usually looked like a disapproving buddha, this was the subject of some merriment by my friends and I was ribbed mercilessly

I look nothing like this fella though.
