Really looking forward to reading this.  So pleased you're going, and I've never wished more for someone to win the lot.

This.

Despite having a couple of pieces of people in the ME I can't think of anyone I would rather see win it all.  Good luck and glad you are going.

This thread will be Best of blonde without a doubt.

Run good and this could be the best rail ever.

Fast forward to 2008. I'm playing a few local comps and doing well. Online is up and down. So much tougher than live. It's so funny looking back year on year how much my game as improved. I'm always eager to learn more about the game. Around this time I met Kev at gala Leicester and he introduced me to Paul and the infamous and now sadly disbanded best home game in leicester. Cracking bunch of lads who played there and of course the now famous Neil Blatchly. We were like any other home game- more about the banter then about the poker. We travelled to local comps together and considered ourselves to be the best local players about. Really really good times.

I hadn't really played any tournaments on the circuit at all. They just seemed out of reach. Me and Neil (sigh) headed down to play a 10r to the 500 gala tour at Notts. They had a promotion where if you played any satty you would get an entry into a free roll which guaranteed 5 seats. Me and blatch shoved first hand and headed down to dtd so we could play the free roll. I made a huge f up during the free roll and despite being 1/9 at the final didn't get a seat.

Sounds stupid but I had a strange feeling I was meant to play and binked it. It was obv huge- I even managed to beat a little known player named James Keys heads up and anyone who's anyone knows how BAD I am heads up (ask Tom Rutter). One stop later and Neil won the tour. Suddenly we were surrounded by publicity- was a great story for the "people's poker tour" but sadly it marked the beginning of the end of the homegame.... Neil and Paul fell out.

Ego's and envy went hand in hand. I'd like to point out this wasn't just down to Neil. At the time it felt like we'd outgrown the homegame. I'd like to think I my job and my family kept me grounded. Although it was just a small win in comparison to some it was easy to get carried away. Eventually the homegame broke up and all that was left was me, Kev and Neil......
