Hi and welcome to blonde

A few more facts might help.

Are you a solely recreational player playing with "spare" cash?

Do you treat poker cash as a seperate bankroll?

from these answers, people will be able to give better advice on how you "step up"

It's good that you're a winning player and obviously enjoy your poker but £200 profit playing £16 games really is a very small amount so I'd maybe wait until you have ammassed £2000 in winnings before taking shots at £100 tournaments.

Alternatively, if you really have your heart set on playing bigger ones, why not try cheap satellites for them?

As tighty says it depends how you view your money.

Do you just use any extra cash in your bank account to play? If so then by all means play £100 games if you have the income.

If you consider it a seperate poker bankroll that has to fund itself then you need a lot more to be able to play higher buyin games. £200 is only just about rolled for £15 games.

hi all thanks for the replies i am a recreational player and keep my poker bankrole in a jar above the kitchen cupboard my address is £$%^&*&^^%% i would not use £300 of my hard earned cash from work to play poker but would use my winnings if you know what i mean . i don't like playing on line as it does not hold my attention and when i have played on line satellites the minute i sit down the door bell goes etc . also the money side is not a big problem apart from me being a tight git  but i am used to playing in cheap tournaments and do OK but if i step up a level also have to consider the standard of play etc etc but the main thing i wanted to know (from good players only) was do they have a set% of winnings they put to one side or just use it all to chase a big win

Have you read any poker theory?

I think the gist of what you're looking for comes under "bankroll management", but I can't really go into it more than that as I don't qualify as someone who is allowed to reply.

1 big spin up is the only way to do it!

Take all your money - lump it in to 1 tourney and run like god

poker is not a skill game its all luck. The best poker player on here is "stuart Hopkin" - ask him and he will tell you the same

GL with the spin up. If you choose to play the DTD 300 next week with your money - they do live reporting on this website and you could get famous!

hi no the first 3 or 4 weeks i played and got lucky that  got me hooked on the game and then a rubbish 6 months before slowly learning from my mistakes .but the last 18 months have all been good i have played a £40 tournament at a diffrent casino and soon realised what a big advantage it is to play at the same place where you know how 70% of the players play on the cheap nights

welcome to blonde.  Just out of interest, how do you define a 'good' player.
