Just a guess but maybe they have ambitions to be more than dtd dealers on what I understand to be a relatively low wage?

From what I understand the promotion prospects at dtd aren't exactly fantastic and the dealers aren't allowed to do any freelance work to earn any extra money at festivals.

If they leave they can work at festivals (of which there are more and more of these days) and also come back to work festival weekends at DTD after their 6 month cooling off period.

Yeah, I see your point, maybe the mgrs at D2D should be more flexible and allow then time out if booked as holidays so they can plan to attend some of the higher paying festivals.

I also think some of the guys get fed up of being treated like cattle fodder!

DTD train their dealers to a very high standard so I can kind of understand them not wanting to let them leave and work elsewhere.

At the same time, dealers don't earn a huge deal so I can understand them wanting to take festival work on too.

I don't know if I was ever considered one of the 'good' dealers, but I left recently and am good friends with most of the others that have.

Personally, it wasn't really DTD that made me leave. I left to deal elsewhere for personal reasons and as stated, better promotion prospects. That's just the way it is. Alot of mates have left because they're going home or wish to progress to a different career.

Alot of the older dealers have left, I know Russel left to travel, Toby has gone home.

Obviously I'd be a liar if I said there wasn't a few reasons that ran throughout, but these reasons have been made very clear by everyone and I'm pretty sure the management know about these. Wether they choose to take notice is their choice, but if it's come noticeable to you guys there's alot of absences, maybe it's time to start listening Wink.

As for the newer dealers, they're still trained to the same standard as the rest of us. Dealing takes practice to become effortless and I'm sure you won't even notice soon Tongue. There are alot of newer dealers lately due to the amount leaving, so they will be alot weaker, but they're all good dealers, they just need practice.
