Last year i got off to a great start with average chips for day 2 by end of level 4 then it all went wrong and i ended the day with 16,000 going out 3 levels later.

This year i was determined to get through with a respectable stack even if it meant gambling to do so !

Those of you with a nervous disposition don't read the last hand lol.

We started with 7500 chips and could take our 3 x 7500 extra at anytime , i chose not to.

I had an incredibly loose table eg , UTG raise to 350 , rr pot , called then full pot reraise by likely AA , back to first reraiser who pots it again , caller calls all in as does 4 bettor.

He has AAT2 no suits , the caller QT86ds and the 5 bettor K987 ! the QT86 rivered a middle pin .

We also had blind raise and reraises preflop !

After 2 levels i had 30,825

Level 3 i slow played AA on the button , flop was J 2 2 , i flat called 1000 , turn a 2 , i flat called another 2000 , river an A , he went all in for 2400 , his hand was AKQ2ds , i ended level 3 with 43,000

Nothing happened in the 4th but in the 5th i flopped a wrap and nut flush draw that turned the nuts against trips and ended the level with 56,000.

I maintained my stack through levels 6 and 7 then lost a big pot on an unraised flop of 8 K 8 4 T  , i had an 8 against the sb slow played KK .

Finally they announced last 5 hands , i had dropped to 36,800 , blinds were 300 600 , Greg Raymer utg limped for 600 on the second last hand as did William Thorson , i called with A 2 3 5 suited in hearts , chip leader raised to 3300 , button called as did Greg and Will , 14,100 in pot 2700 to call so i called , flop was T J Q with 2 hearts , all checked , turn paired the Q , all checked to button who dwelled and checked , river was a K , Greg and Will quickly checked and i went with my gut that no one had connected and bet half pot 8700 , everyone folded !

I guess i wasnt the only one fishing preflop lol.

I ended the day with 51,200 average is 62,000.

Cheers

Got a bad redraw.

2 to my left was a Russian with 169,000 who quickly assumed the role of table captain , i got 2 hands in the first level KKds and QQds , raised with both and he called in position , if i checked or bet he bet or reraised , having missed both times it was very frustratiing.

Next level a player with a tight image raised and was called , flop was 9 9 6 , over 70,000 chips went in , his opponent had 9TJQ , he had 6678 which stood up.

Next hand he raised again , i was down to 30,000 in the sb , average 86,000 and had KJT7ds so decided to see a flop which was J 9 6 rainbow giving me top pair and a double gutshot , i check called his 4300 bet , turn was 2 diamonds giving me the K high flush draw as well , i could have check called here leaving me 12,000 but led out for 8500 , he reraised me all in , my best hope was he had top 2 meaning i could win with any 8 T Q K or diamond , i called and he tabled QJ93ds for top two no diamonds , river 4 of hearts !

I could have waited one or two more rounds but i dont ever like to go below quarter the average so took a shot to get back in the game , i was favourite pre flop and on the flop and just under even money getting 3 - 1 on the turn.

so you have an extremely loose table, but you decide not to take the addon str8 away?
what a ridiculous choice and your first mistake before you sit down.
If you rate yourself at this game at all, and someone else has the addon on your right you should snap take the addon
looks to me like a scared decision, and crazy way of minimising chip equity on an aggro table.

i didnt play the event but i can certainly think of some advantages to not topping up to the maximum chips straight away on a table like this

Hi , thanks for your input , my PLO record suggests i know what i am doing and the first thing i did was check to see if anyone had taken an add on and none had.

Update for backers of the ME.

I went and played the Stars UKIPT in Killarney to get some practise , made day 3 cashing in 26th of 253 going out to a 3 outer , since i have been here i have made day 2 in both the $10,000 PLO and $2500 NL and last night played the first ever $2000 Mega Satellite , 129 players generating 24 x $10,000 and $5400 for 25th , i ended 5th chip leader winning $10,000 so pleased with my form.

Today i intend to play a $1000 STT then the $2000 Mega again before taking Monday off ready to play day 1b on Tuesday.

Cheers
