Where I've put the arrow was, I think, where tango man (who Sherriff mentioned in another thread) was sat.

He spent most of the 1st half down at the front facing the crowd, leading the chants.  Cheesy

Nice report Chip. Hopefully Weaver is just match rusty and can get back to form. He was good for us on loan when we had him a few years back.
Don't rate Purse but watching Leeds last year i can imagine him being similar to Naylor.

What was the thing with Morrison? Fans clapping him or him clapping fans?

Imagine the scene, 2-0 up at home V a small side.  Every little pass he receives, in the 10-20 seconds after, say when the ball has gone out for a throw or a goal-kick etc, he claps, jogs to team-mates/high 5's, getures/points etc.

It gets the crowd onside for him, it doesn't look right to me, 'fake'.  Lapping up the applause when subbed etc.

If he thinks he's still billy big-time in League 1 he's in for some shocks come the cold tuesdays in Jan/Feb.  may prove me completely wrong and get 25 goals though.  Smiley

I much prefer Mellor, someone who'll keep his head down, work hard, not get carried away and score a fair few.

Barnsley V Rochdale tonight.

Another new one for me, 4 games so far, 4 new grounds, albeit 2 Conference ones.  I think I only went to 3 new grounds all last season, MK Dons, Accrington Stanley & Morecambe, so i've been treated so far.  Cheesy

Do you get car park passes as well as comp tickets?

what other perks does the job come with? half time refreshments? free programme?

Yeah get parking at most grounds, only grounds Ive ever paid at are Leeds (Ken mfkin Bates) and Millmoor a couple of years ago.  I'm a tightarse though and if somewhere doesn't offer parking I will find street parking.

Free programme at around half the places, team sheet everywhere.

Half-time refreshments at everywhere I think, most places just a hot drink, some, like Wednesday on sat It was sandwiches or/and soup as I was in the guest lounge, and seats were in the directors box.

You get a meal at Swansea, worth the drive alone! Cheesy

On parking, for tonight i'm told theres a little old lady who will make you buy a draw ticket before letting you park.  Cheesy

In turn she'll sort you out with a quick-getaway space. Smiley

I was at Walsall/Leicester at the Bescot two years ago season in a directors box seat (brag)

The list of scouts watching the game ran to two sides of A4..from most championship and league one sides, plus a few Prem. Mostly scouts, some managers. Lambert was there for example.

Obviously future opponents will be scouting both teams, some will be there watching a particular player....

In your experience for a typical L1 game how many fellow scouts would you see there?

Is there a fraternity of scouts? Active comparing of notes or is it very secretive where you need to guess why so and so is there and who they are watching?

In a league 1 game I would normally see 15-20.  I generally recognise faces, and would recognise maybe 2/3 a game, but I know few to talk too.  Theres one other young chap who I see regulalryl but dont know who he works for, we always exchange a polite hello and if we're on some kind of crusade to lower the average age of scouts, which is about 60.

A lot of the older guys know everyone bar me it seems at lots of games, but I generally keep myself to myself.  Assessment wise I much prefer to go by myself even though I get 2 tickets if needed, far easier to really watch the games finer details if you havent got someone chatting away.  On the flip its nice to have another opinion there.  Except when I take my girlfriend who's more interested on what the half-time refreshments will be and if she'll get a padded seat.  She also likes going to Crewe, as theres always a flock of birds that circles the ground which she watches for most of the game.  Took he to a 3-3 draw there, 1 goal she saw. lol

I wouldn't say its secretive, most are there scribbling away, the odd one has a dictaphone.

Some I think, well know, simple go for a natter with old friends.
