Thanks.
I have driven there before, twice last season, but not caught the train. The fare is no different with adding the extra Bletchley bit, so would probs jump on it anyway for the extra 5 mins.
Karl Robinson, good connections with Liverpool having worked there, Amoo on loan too. Talk of Robbie Fowler signing for them doing the rounds.

Drove on saturday in the end, no problems, except the car park at the ground is like a swimming pool, I mean wtf? stuck between a spanking new stadium and a massive Asda, and there parking was awful.
Anyway, 1st look at Brighton, very noticebale to say straight away there manager has foreign ideas about ball retention and possession. They killed the tempo right from the off, CB's passing back and forth, then back to Ankergen, back to Greer and so on, then moved it upfield and the tempo changes instantly, quick quick quick. greer I think btw the way is a top drawer CB at this level, with and without the ball.
MK Played well, Vine up top ran his socks off, the lad from Fulham Marsh-Brown very useful on the left, and David martin in goal, ex-Liverpool, very very impressive.
Brighton not great today, but I can see how there a class above most teams in this league, I think Poyet has a lot of them beliveving they're good footballers, and thus has drilled into them his passing style, belief is massive.
Poyet himslef, I have massive admiration for the way he's transformed them, saw them at Hartlepool back end of last year, lost 2-0 and were bullied out of it to be honest, thought they would do better this year, but didn't have them down as faves at all. All credit to him.
BUT, I can't like Poyet from what I see of him, he has mostly had things his way this year, but spits his dummy when he doesnt get his way. Sarcastically claps the ref from the touchline, arguing with Karl Robinson, and is generally belittling to all around him, not afraid to mouth the crowd either.
Not doubt they'll go up though.

saw him early when he played for Bury, on loan from Wolves if memory serves. He's good at this level, but didn't have too much influence on saturday, MK played with 2 deepish CM's and he didn't have much possession in the final 3rd, took a knock too and never really shook it off. He is decent though yeah, def a champ player at the mo, could be more.

Just wanted to say this is still a great thread and I enjoy reading it. Just not adding much to it as at the moment I hate (League 1) football.

Poyet seems a bit of a tit tbh, kinda liked him at Leeds but I am not sure if this whole manager lark has gone to his head. He had a huge spat with Clarke after the Hudds game this year.

Clark's a bit of a wally too, but at least his passion is aimed at his own team, Poyet seems to think he's above L1.

That's because he is.
He'll be Chelsea or Tottenham manager within 5 years.

Ability wise I don't doubt it, but he could be more respectful/humble in the way he acts on the touchline.
Something about him grates, imo.

This is a very interesting one.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/peterborough_united/9410313.stm
Liverpool academy, then Vauxhall Motors, Chester FC, turning up drunk for training (if rumours are to be believed), Vauxhall Motors, Prison, Anderlecht (!), Charleroi, now Peterborough... Not exactly sure that order is right but its along those lines...
I was sent to see him 2/3 times a couple of years ago when a lot of lower league clubs were sniffing about, Chester took a 50K chance, but in less than 12 months he was gone, having failed to turn up not only for training, but for matches too.
A bad lad, but with the skillz... Not sure if Chompy reads here, but will follow this with interest...

I am a brighton fan.
Crofts i thought was our worst midfielder last year, even though he somehow got player of the year, and look how he is doing for you.
Bennett is pretty good, our whole midfield is top 6 championship quality, but he doesn't have much pace but a lot of energy. I doubt he is any better than Lansbury. Bridcutt and Dicker are just as good. Kishiev would also walk into most championship sides and he can't get into our midfield as its so good.
Can you stop going to games Chip if they have lost both times? MK Dons was our worst performance of the season apparently!
Thanks

lol, I'm due to see you lot at Rochdale on the 2nd April
Bridcutt, do you rate him? When he played for Stockport he was average I thought, then he disappeared for 12 months now he starts for you over Sparrow. All thoughts welcome.

Anthony I know you are a Brighton fan but I cannot allow the Kishishev comment to pass
Not a chance that Kishishev walks into most championship sides. In his mid 30s, he played a handful of games for us over 3 years after a great career at Charlton, was loaned out to Div 1 (Leeds) then and when he went onto the list not one Championship team came in
He would fit Brighton's style, playing as a holding midfielder as they build slowly from the back, which means his lack of pace isn't as exposed as it would be in most 4 4 2 formations where the 2 central midfielders need to get up and down more

kishishev is one of my all time fave players, absolutely love the guy, a true legend but no way does he walk into most champ teams. it'd be pushing it to say he'd walk into most league 1 teams at this point in his career
