The question I have now Rich is  this. As part of your investigation did you or anyone else request the checking of Kevs data by Jane?

I did not no. As I have said the Brendan issue was raised as a verbal concern to me. After the family had been contacted I then got the data from our former card-room provider

On the Dawn issue, which was her issue not a blonde poker issue, again no request from me.

As tikay was unaware of the Brendan issue until ten days ago, the same answers will apply to him I would think

Correct.

just to clarify I didnt have you in mind Tony. I had finally realised that the back story might invovle the police. I was hoping that the examining of msn and pM'S might have been done at their request which would make it understandable.

Pretty sure that if the police wanted someone's PC checking for potentially incriminating evidence they wouldn't ask the bloke's ex to have a quick check through it for them.

oh dear, they might ask the company Blondepoker tho...

It's more likely that they would just seize it before the evidence became compromised.

Rifling through someone's PC isn't a job for any member of the public under any circumstances. Once there is any suspicion of a crime being committed the PC should be handed over to the law.

By going through it and thus changing all the "last read" dates etc. it probably just invalidates any potential evidence that was there in the first place.

There's far too many interferring people here who've become involved in their own "private investigations". Unfortunately that's probably ruined any chance of real justice being served if a crime has actually been committed.

thats true but you have to realise tha tnot everyone knew that what appeared to be a situation regarding Kev was in fact something more serious. I asked someone what was going on and got a story that turned out to be only half the story. So I would rather ask the questions on this thread and gte the right answer instead. Please understand that some are not as clued up as you are.

Wonder if a judge would be generally prepared to allow the use of any evidence that had been obtained illegally anyway...

I guess you would debate whether or not it had been obtained illegally, now I don't know any details about what happened and I'm not a lawyer but if Jane had any legitimate access (maybe she had her own account etc) to the PC then I imagine it would be acceptable as evidence (e.g. paedophiles discovered by computer repair shops).

I have no idea. I seem to think that the "Video" & the scrutiny of the PC may have been a sort of cause & effect, but once that can of worms was opened it sort of led to other things. But I don't know, to be honest.

We are getting into speculative grounds here now, though, & those involved on both sides, innocent &/or guilty, are all reading all this stuiff. Not to defend or attaqk anyone, but "standing in someone else's shoes" springs to mind.

I hope I can exit the thread now.

Yes, there is that, plus I know little about the specifics of this instance. I don't know enough about computers either, I had no idea that my computer logged details of what had been moved, by whom, when and to where.

Generally they don't. I think it was Laz who brought that up a while back.

MSN chat logging is an optional feature too.

If Kev is banned because you think it's best he takes a break from blonde, but Kev has decided he is going to walk away anyway then why not just unban him?
He'll probs make the odd post to defend himself while this mess plays out and then be on his way.

At the moment he makes this second account to make post, Tightend comments to say he thinks this is fair enough. (It's perhaps not because of the precedent it sets, undermines the ban, and it's not like there aren't other ways Kev can get a message onto the forum)

Much simpler life if you just unban him and if he wants to make a post he can do so from his own account as a regular forum member. If he oversteps the mark with regard to attacking rather than defending then warn his ass and if it continues, you can ban his ass in the way that people used get banned from foums, because of bad shit that they've actually posted.

never in a million years, they would seize them and examine them themselves

Surely you will agree, the most important thing is the police get all the evidence they need in order to build a case, so justice is done.

It might save other women going through the same ordeal in the future.
