London and Manchester - Season Finale of Summer Series

The fifth and final instalment of the GUKPT Summer Series is underway this week, with the London leg held at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino getting a head start on Manchester by three days, and the parallel series kicking off on the 26th August.  Both historically popular venues, these locations will host the last deep-stacked Summer Series Main Events of the year before the GUKPT returns for its autumnal stages leading up to the Grand Final back in London in November.  Giving a taste of tournaments to come, the London Summer Series 5 Main Event will be a one-off £750 No Limit Hold’em freezeout with a 12k starting stack and 45 minute clock – rounding off the five sets of summer tournaments in style.  The full schedules:

As ever, players who capture Summer Series titles or win side events gain entry to December’s Champion of Champions event – the £150,000 freeroll for players who’ve topped fields from Aberdeen to Brighton.  To view the list of players already invited to this exclusive tournament, please visit http://www.grosvenorukpokertour.com/cofcqualifiers.html.

Following the end of the Summer Series (but not, we hope, of summer) results and details of the next leg of the GUKPT (Brighton, October 4th-10th) will all be available at www.gukpt.com.

I'm playing the £550 Manchester. Does anyone think the numbers will exceed 50, judging by the low turnout of previous Summer Series?

just home from reshoving TT into AA in the £200. astonished at how the gukpt's changed since I last played an event 3 years ago. that was one of the worst crapshooty tournies ever, tonight however was superb

the final of the £500 was chopped 4 ways, not sure who was cl at the time but he got the others to agree to give him 1st place money, coc seat and the trophy and the other 3 split what was left. great deal

highlight of the day was lalit managing to fall asleep between acting on the turn and the river being dealt, that's pretty impressive stuff imo
