Driving in notts and was flashed and picked up 3 points and £60 fine

1st they sent me a letter asking if it was me and I said yes

2nd got a letter asking me to send in my DL and a payment of £60 which I did sent stright away

90% of my time is spent away from Leeds

I was shocked to find a few letters today when I got home

1 was telling me a date that I was due in court for not send in my DL and paying the fine
the 2nd was telling me what had happend in the court case

So I'm now pissed off  the my DL has been lost and I have been taken to court without me knowing and now have a £275 fine, the office is now closed and I can't speak to anyone till tomorrow

I can prove that I have not been in Leeds the whole time and I have been staying in hotels

Anyone can help?

They probably can!

Pretty sure this happened to a mate of mine, think it took a few letters and phone calls but they were helpful and he got it sorted.

If you have some proof u will be fine.

Have u missed a court date? Why didn't you get ur notice? You can go to court and make a declaration to say u didn't! They do the case again. I have good lawyers number if u need one!

Dear Police

Please find enclosed my wallet containing £3000. Just take what you need for the fine and send the rest back to me.

Cheers    LeedsRhodsey.

If you admitted it and sent in payment for the fine why did they send you a court date?  Or did they set a court date after a deadline for receiving your DL and payment passed?

Have you checked with your card to see if they have taken payment ? Did you get proof of posting ?

Next time use special delivery with such documents (license passport etc)

Sounds like my DL has been lost in the post so I have to write a letter now saying that I have sent to off and send in all my prof that I have been away and did not know about the case but the lady said I might get over turned and I will go back to a £60 fine

Have you cancelled your card and contacted the DVLA about your licence?  I'd do that as a priority (as well as getting the hotel receipts and stuff together if the police ask for them).
