Playing a 100 man 90k euro freeroll tonight, all the grinding I did last month will help as you get 10x the amount you raked in starting chips capped at 5k, I hit the cap ofc so will have at least the chip lead going into it. Anybody who doesn't play first 5 minutes gets kicked and they pay 80 people.
Would quite like to run good.

Hey Pleno, haven't chatted to you before but from seeing a lot of your posts I gather you live in Gibraltor. Was just wondering if there's any live poker tomorrow night worth making a stop off for?
Good luck in your Sunday grind.
hey mate,
just saw this sorry. Are you still in Gib? How long for/why/where you staying etc?
On Saturday there is a yearly tourny which is £250 and should be deece.
Hope to see you there
I was having a little drive through Europe and was in Cadiz on Monday night. Thought if there was anything happening I'd pop over. I'm over in gran canaria now and gonna 'grind' some cash out here for a week or so, so is unlikely that I'll make that tournament. Good luck if you play and I'll check back on here for updates.
Will hopefully be around again later in the summer so I'll let you know and we can play/grab food etc.
Having a drive round Europe lol. Who do you think you are? The Self Preservation Society
Hahahaha alrite danny dyer calm down. Let pleno know when you next slip accross the drink to spain

Man I absolutely love poker.
I said something a few weeks ago about being jealous of the guys in vegas etc, but really over the last few weeks I've tried taking poker to another level. I've studied to levels that I didn't think were possible and have built different tools to help me with my game.
One tool is something that somebody suggested to me which basically helps you work out the right percentage of times that you need villain to fold to make a 5b jam profitable.
After working really hard on this again, I introduced it to the guy that I'm coaching at the moment and I think its going to help him enormously.
Basically to work out the ev of a bluff, you have to work out your fe x the pot size and then - it by the call % ax bet size.
Or in simpler terms,
ev (bluff) = fold % * pot size - call% * bet size
Working out for 3bet/4bet is relatively easy and to make a profitable 3bet you need the villain to fold around 67% of the time, when trying to work out 5b jamming frequencies it starts getitng a little bit more complicated.
So in simpler terms for 5b:
ev (5bet) = fold % * pot size
+ call% * (our equity * total amont we win - his equity * toal amount we lose)
To work on the different ranges it isn't so hard. If you are able to use excel then you can insert the following columns
column 1 - fold equity
column 2 - current pot size
column 3 - equity vs calling range
column 4 - Our bet/raise size
colmun 5 - villains call size
column 6 - ev of shove
and then you will be able to see how often you need villain to fold with different kinds of hands. So usually with a pocket pairs/Ax (the usual kind of hands that you may choose to 3b/5b bluff) you will need around 45% fold equity, with a completely random hand it is around 55% that you need. If you make the excel you can work it out with all the different kind of hands.
An example of this...
villan opens 3bb, we 3bet 10bbs, we 4bets 22,
pot szie we are stealing is 22+10+blinds = 33
our bet/raise size is 400
EQUITY
villan - tt+ ak (std range for 4b/call)
hero - Axs
we have
32%
, we need villain to fold
44%
of the time to show profit.
So why did I start doing this?
I've moved over to Zoom, and I'm playing something like 30/26/17 which is totally unheard of for rush as far as I can see. If you're going to play so aggro like this there is a very very thin line between being very good/aggressive and just randomly mashing buttons. I sometimes was treading over the line when I was playing my B game and thus needed to make sure that I did some work off the tables so that I felt more competent in more spots. I do still however say FUCK HIM before mashing the button on the right..
B/C game is super important for aggressive players. If you are a 20/18 and you're playing your c game, its hard for you to lose alot of money. If you are very very aggressive and playing your C game its very hard to not lose alot of money. I think that the main thing stopping aggressive players having huge win rates is their ability to control their B and C game and perhaps why Isildur has had some super huge downswings.

I also read today that the best win rates over a large amount of hands on Zoom is 5bb/100. I'm not quite sure about this as I'm just getting into it, but will post back in the thread quoting this post with my 100k sample graph and bb/100 and see how I stand vs that.

Currently doing a Ask Me Anything about 6max on PokerStrategy.com which I think will help quite alot of people.
http://www.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=1120311#post1120311
Hope mods don't mind as we've had links to Sky and the thread will be 100% strategy based and nothing to do with affiliation etc.
