If Pleno stops loving the game, I fear the game will take the breakup hardest.

Off topic I see 2 or 3 articles from Barry linking to your site everyday. Is he on a salary or paid by the article. Some really really good articles too

I wouldn't normally try so hard, but didn't have another opportunity I could wait for. I wasn't ready to surrender what I WANTED SO MUCH, that easily, I couldn't guarantee a call with me staying stoic and relying on a flinch "top pair" calling reflex.

'any game in England, except some rare games in Notts at 500nl or below is going to be very soft'
Pleno...out of interest where have you played 'Live' in England at 1/2 or above?

Hey,
Newcastle
Middlesbrough
Nottingham
Brighton
Sheffield
London
Leeds
Bristol
Up to 4 casinos in each one, probably a bunch of different ones.
Gibraltar
Marbella
Costa Del Sol (2 different ones)
Barcelona
Ibiza
Majorca
Vegas x 10 places
Prague (different places)
I'd say with the odd exception that generally in a 9 handed game there will be 5 very weak players.
I'd also say that if you can't beat and feel like you are crushing the game, or have a very very good grasp then you have very huge/glaring leaks that need to be rectified immediately, as playing in these live games is like playing NL10 or something online. John Black would probably argue that NL10 is tougher than nl200 live.

i'd agree with that. never played in a tough cash game outside of DTD 2/5 or below and have played all over.

If you asked me about 3 months ago what I wanted to do in 2013 I would have said I wanted to be the best mid stakes player in the world and make a bunch of money, now I'm just not motivated for it, no idea why/what happened, but over December/Xmas I played v v little poker, probably 2 hours from December 20th-Today.
Very weird, no idea what the plan is for 2013, I have been coaching a bunch actually, in the past I always didn't enjoy coaching because I just wanted to play. Now I just want to help and teach, it's weird. It's also hard to teach people and be the best poker coach in the world if you don't know game dynamics much. Most of the people who need coaching are at NL100/200, I should probably play a bunch of every stake just to understand everything and to make sure what I'm saying is right.
Again no idea what I want to do, I posted last years outcome of poker in the other thread:

pretty ridic year
had biggest tourny score of life (50k+)
had best winning months of my life (multiple 20k+)
lost by far the biggest 2 pots of my life with very high equity in live games (xxk+
)
lost aa v 66 on a66 in a wpt
kk v ak in gsop
aj v a10 for big pot close to money in ept
came 10th in one of the biggest sunday millions of the year with top set when i was 2/10 vs 1/10
think i improved as a player to a ridiculous level and so many opportunities to have a "break through", can't be sad, but has made me a little demoralised moving to 2013.
Probably biggest rollercoaster year I will ever have
I really, really feel confident playing, but just need to change my mindset a little bit.
Anyone has any advice?

And I thought our 1/1 wasn't easy...
I would 100% swear that 10nl online is tougher than anything up to 500nl live in the UK that I've played. And the UK Reid much tougher than - Brussels, Spain, Uganda, Poland, Thailand, Cameroon, China, American home games the world over and a load more places.
Pat is right, live games are lol soft.

Burn out? You do seem to lead a very busy life, with poker taking up a lot of your spare time.
My guess is that a break from the game would re ignite your passion for the game and coaching is simply something different from grinding like a mad man, so it is new and fresh.
