Taking an internal flight in New Zealand (from Rotorua to Christchurch) was such a pleasure.
Showed up 30 minutes before the flight and check in your luggage (only have to be there 10 minutes before the flight if you have only carry on)
No security checks, no id checks, just show them your ticket and get on board.
Bliss.

I see some people disagree, so fair enough, but imo Ryanair only do things to please themselves and couldn't care less about passengers security and safety. So I would conclude that they have this requirement because they know a significant number of passengers will bring along some other ID and they can tell then to gtfo and keep the money.

...which means cheaper flights for people who can read instructions.

Think its much more likely they would charge extra for not bringing a passport if they were going down that road, this is the company that want to charge people for going to the toilet after all. I reckon in this instance they probably have a reasonable security related reason for preferring passports.

Good, I would have been pretty outraged if he didn't have to show his passport because he is famous

Would defo recommend you steer clear of BBC's consumer programme Watchdog. They had a rouge trader last week who put things in other people's skips. You'd be spitting tea all over your living room.

from wikipedia In the United Kingdom, the show was first aired on BBC television (now called BBC One) but renamed Boss Cat shortly after it premiered in 1962 because Top Cat was also the name of a brand of cat food. The dialogue and theme tune still referred to the character by his original name but a small cut was made in the opening credits (resulting in a slight 'jump' in the film) and a title card added before the episode proper. The new name was last used for a repeat run in 1989; by the time the series was next aired in 1999 the 'Top Cat' food brand had long since disappeared, allowing the original title to be used. This continues to be the case in the showings on Boomerang and BBC Two.

You would think that but turns out that doesn't bother me at all. The house opposite me has a skip right now and I am waiting for a good moment to make my move and shove a bunch of old boxes and half an office chair in it.

why is it a level?
No great fan of Ryanair, but I think its true to say that it (and Easyjet for that matter) have an unblemished 20 year safety record.
