Somewhat underwhelmed by the Gukpt blog today. Any other means of updates available?
Best of luck to Jonathan Campbell
Hi mate, unfortunately the guy who does the bloggage normally for GUKPT is either ill or unavailable so was unfortunately nobody was there today. I was asked to go for today but unfortunately I had a few meetings today that I couldn't sack off with a days notice so I'm heading down tomorrow morning (6am sigh
) from Newcastle and should be there from 1ish. I havn't done updates for Grosvenor before and like Tighty said "inexperienced" but will try my best and if there's anybody you'd like updates on then I would be more than happy to oblige and may even stretch to a photograph or two for you. See you this weekend hopefully.

After talking to David about the best way to do the "blog", we decided that wordpress is perhaps not the best way. For this weekend we have decided to do a trial of using Facebook.
On wordpress its 1) Hard to work, 2) Uneasy on the eye, 3) Hard to interact with the viewers as there is nowhere to leave comments etc.
The main problem with Facebook is that everybody doesn't have it. I'm sure the majority do and hopefully it will be a success, if anything it shows that the GUKPT are proactive in improving their service and want to do the best for their viewers after seeing some negative feedback.

I've added a link to it in my fb status and if a good few do that, word will spread fast.

Disagree, Wordpress is the nuts. Look at the Unibet blog at
http://www.unibetopen.com/category/10-valencia/
that Jen and Rod are doing from Valencia (Could also spam the GSOP Live blog me and Dino1980 are doing from Riga @
www.gsoplive.com/blog
but it's only half-built at the moment imo so I won't spam that
). You can have a techy build a chatbox or message box next to the blog for requests. Add the Picasa plug-in for photos and a playing card plug in and get going.

wow the unibet open page looks sick mate! In terms on GUKPT I've came in the middle of the 3 days and there was technical issues with wordpress that meant there wasn't many updates today. Even when attempting to log on this morning it wasn't let us log on for whatever reason. It was decided that it was imperative that we got as much updates out as possible, so thought on our feet and quickly made the Facebook event. Personally I am just doing this on a one off basis (for now) and I think quantity.quality of updates is most important at the moment as yesterday there was very little, but agree next time a page like the unibet one would be a better choice if made and prepared in advance. Have fun in Riga.
