I didn't like to brag too much but I think I would play anyone for any ammount
I had a proper slate pub style table from when I was 8-9 years old
then when I bought my own gaff I had a pool room at the end of the garden
then I moved to Cyprus and I had one out the garden
But um not one to brag

I used to be very good pool.

If its standard old rules (you can roll up behind a ball without hitting a cush) then snookering will be your key to certain victory.

If you are both petty gash then just pot balls as often as you can between now and then - Rack em up, smash them, then pot them all. Games between poor players usually come down to the last couple of balls so make sure you can pot them when it comes to it.

If they're playing "ball in hand" it sounds like it's US rules which mean that you must hit a rail with either the cue ball or object ball after contact which eliminates roll-up snookers.

I'm in if it's 9-ball, English pool is a bird's game*.

* I am a big fan of women's 9-ball.

Ralph
In certain English 8 ball rules you have to pot or hit cushion too.

Cos
Find out what actual rules you are playing, could well be American bar 8 ball rules if using an American table/balls.
The weight of the balls (all being equal) will make a big difference if the skill shot is going to be used for example.
Have a look on the net for articles/videos about deflection

Use more stun and follow through type shots rather than screw back.

The cue ball is the same size and weight with Yanky balls so these shots are much easier to execute.

With English balls the screw shot is much easier because the white's tiny and bounces off the object ball.

Don't know about Greek balls.

Greek balls are just ridic hairy mate, makes them almost not worth playing with.

Shear them
