Not checked yet but am assuming the downloads would be cheaper than buying the physical books?

I've got one, and I love it.

Handy for train/plane journeys meaning you don't have to lug around books, ...

How many books do you think would make the extra cost worthwhile?

What would you make the breakeven point?

The book prices are a bit all over the shop from what I have seen.

I would be surprised if you hadnt broken even by around the 30 book mark.

You also get books at a cheaper rate than hard copies(quite considerable in some cases) on amazon so not as much as you think if you read a lot

Yeah I thought that. Not like Amazon, can only assume they are having trouble with the numbers being ordered.
Im away on Friday, gonna have to carry a book on the plane, its just not on.

I've been against ereaders for a while, but it is getting more tempting.

If it were purely against the full cost prices then I'd get one now, but I think I might have to check the figures based on buying books in sales and various other special offers.

There was a massive backlog before September when they got them in stock.  No idea why they are limiting supply.

The cost of some books is far less than the paperback version.  The odd book is surprisingly more expensive for the Kindle version.  Also, a lot of books still aren't available on the Kindle - which is a pain.  Of course, on the plus side once you have a Kindle and find a book you want, it's yours to read in seconds.  You can also download samples of books to read a dozen pages or so, which helps give you an idea of the book before you buy.

If more books were available I'd certainly consider getting one; the only books I really like reading are Autobiographys and they dont really seem to convert them for the kindle- especially older releases

Got a Sony Reader for Christmas last year but hadn't got around to using it until I went to Cornwall last week. Main reason i hadn't used it was the books I wanted weren't available as e-books.
In fact I was very disappointed with lack of choice initially and also I thought the e-books would be a lot cheaper than what they sell for.

However finally downloaded 4 books last week and really enjoyed the reader, very nice size and easy to use can't put it down now.
