Many Thanks for your kind words IFM and Tikay, I do plan to be at any after hours activities Cheesy Be that at Marriott, Thistle or a nice little 24hr club/den down the road. Up for anything, as usual!

I am awaiting a decision to see if they will let me in @ the Broadway for that weekend only. Looks doubtful but always the optimist.

Hope you all had a great Christmas!!

I really do hope everyone enjoy themselves at the Broadway, it is a top venue with 1st class facilities and staff. Definately a club to watch out for, and I am very disappointed that I wont be a part of it's success (damn principles).

You have done a lot of work for this event, for which I thank you. I hope you can attend the main event. Treat this as signature number 3 of the petition.

I agree no 5 here, would be very unfair if dik not allowed in.

Can we join the Broadway on line, or do you have to do it on the day?

Thx Dewi, even if you did it online you still need to produce ID and sign your membership application, so you might as well do it on the day, bring ID produce and sign takes about 3 minutes but i would get there a bit earlier to avoid the que. Have a good time!

dik9 has been a great help, and I too hope he will be there on the day, minus Scooby Doo costume.

If not, we'll have to pinch the keys for the bar at the Marriott later.

but knowing dik9, he could probably organise that too.

Yes, I'm # 6 on the petition to ensure dik can attend! Dave (Colclough) is speaking to the owner on Thursday, we will see what he says. It would be just awful if Rich could not attend, he worked so hard for blonde on this. Bloody principles, cause wars, cost jobs, & cause so much unhappiness in this world.

ifm - the Menu at Broadway? Limited, yes,but good, although in the subdued lighting, the writing on the Menu was FAR too small for me to read.

I had a prawn cocktail, & it was one of those "blocks" of prawns, not what I expected in a high-class place like broadway.

The turkey - ditto, I'd hoped for slices, but it was 2 "lumps", a bit odd I thought. Nice though. I asked for Roasties as well as mashed spuds, but despite asking twice, they never came, although to be fair, a belated apology did. I also asked for "no veg" & the meal came smothered in dark green leafy stuff, spinach I think, which took an age to weed off.

Finished it off with "rich sponge something with ice-cream" which was a real disappointment, it eas a cupcake without the topping, very disappointing.

So, I'm sorry to say, the Restaurant did not anything like match the quality & ambience of what I thought was THE best fitted-out Casino I have ever visited in the UK, almost the nicest I have ever been in, the possible exception in Europe being Baden. A truly tremendous place, a real eye-opener.

Wasted on Birmingham, I'd say........

Wasted on Birmingham, I'd say........

Actually the choice now available to us humble Brummies is quite impressive, we have:-

Walsall (best range of comps in the country, no doubt)
Broadway (great casino, all dealer comps, excellently "done out", though all comps are £20)
Star City (starting up some new comps, VERY popular at the mo but a terrible structure IMO)
Gala Birmingham? (not been yet but they are trying hasr apparently)
Dudley castle (i like this place, good structure but smoking is allowed at the table)
There are also the sorrento in walsall and a few others in Birmingham itself, good times.

I'll be 8,9 and 10.

Or just 8 lest I sully the sincerity of the signatures by putting in a couple of fake names.
