game birds are defined by the game act 1831. duck is a huge fail.  grouse too

valid answers-black grouse, red grous, pheasant, partridge

Ptarmigan as well - which would have been my answer, if I'd been able to spell it.

ptarmigan's not native to uk surely?

Have we finally annexed Scotland?

I'm with you on Goose.  That's a generic term, not the proper name of a game bird.  A proper name would be Victoria, or something similar.

no, I'm objecting to goose, duck and grouse as previously stated as they are not defined as game

Its an accepted term used when ordering Goose meat or their by-products.
