In the hope that we can manage a discussion on Scottish football without it being derailed....who will it be? Hot favourite in the pub would seem to be Strachan but I'm not so sure. Any prices available?

Unless Aberdeen allow/can afford a real cleanout of players what manager will make a difference? There's been a few capable managers there but they've seemed to been undone by squads who show that they can play, but don't seem to want to often.

I tend to think they'd have been better keeping Calderwood & Nicholl & funding them, even if the funding was to be a gamble.

I agree with this completely. I still find it hard to believe they got shot of Jimmy Tango.

Yeah strange decision, nobody was ever gonna get much more out of them.  I suppose McGhee was a good punt at the time, he worked wonders with Motherwell with no budget.  Can see them bringing in anyone special, the squad is terrible and they have no money to invest.  Itll be one of the usual managers on the Scottish managerial merrygoround.  Whats Billy Dodds up to these days?
