selling a pc, questions
«
on:
December 03, 2010, 08:36:15 PM »
Selling my desktop coz I've nowhere to put it really and no need for it since I gave up the pokers.
Few questions from peeps who might have experience and know about this stuff.
Bought new in July of 2009
Also have Dell 21" monitor and 24" monitor, bought in early 2006 but still in good working order.
Questions
1. Where should I look to flog it.
2. How much should I look to charge?
3. Would I be better off selling the PC with the 21" monitor and selling the 24" monitor seperately?

tank why did you give up the pokerz? will you never return?
Probably not. I'm an all or nothing guy when it comes to the online pokers. I couldn't just grind a little on Wednesday evenings, that wouldn't work for me. I'd want to be on leaderboards and increase my volume to bink more often and get bonuses and etc etc.
Even though I didn't really enjoy it, when I'm in poker mode I found it hard to focus on anything else and my work/life balance was a bit screwed.
Not to mention that my idea of fiscal responsiblity when I was an online pro meant grinding lots (and screwing work/life balance even more than usual) when my bank balance was low. I didn't see any connection between constantly spending my money on shite and my bank balance sometimes getting low.
Without online poker I have much less cash, but the cash I do have goes further because I think before I spend it. I'm also a much happier bunny overall.
Don't regret playing poker, learnt some stuff, had some fun. Just time for me to move on. Bought this machine just to be a poker machine, don't need it anymore and don't really have a space for it in the house now second bedroom has been designated for the new baby.

ooh, another question.
If I don't sell it locally, how does posting big expensive computer bits work. Do you get a courier? Anywhere I can get advice with regard to how to pack the bugger so it still works at the other end?

Definately not something I'm against, but I need to sell the PC as there's something important I need to do with the money in February and I don't want to borrow off folk nor do I have much in the way of disposable income each month to save towards that end.
I don't feel bad as most of my stuff I've given away in clearouts in the last year. Not much experience in selling because I've always been more of a giver awayer
