It depends what you are looking for in your football club Maldini.
The style of football that Allardyce and Pulis play will keep their sides in the premiership without too much danger. It will not entertain the fans or owners, but they will continue to survive and possibly thrive as a Premiership club. The style of football that good sides play (and you can include the likes of Bolton and West Brom in this) can not be implemented with the sort of ability of player that Blackburn and Stoke currently hold. West Ham and Wigan are proving as much. People say Blackpool are an exception to this rule but i'm not convinced their football is that good, they are just fantastically motivated and driven by a great manager with the tag of ultimate underdogs and nothing to lose.
If Blackburn's new owners are prepared to invest a hell of a lot of money to bring in the sort of player that can produce good football then fair enough re: the decision. But its an extremely risky move to sack Big Sam at this point in the season rather than at the end. It is their prerogative to do so if they want to be entertained but its such a gamble with the clubs future to do it now. They could go down if the wrong man is appointed.
I agree with this analysis in the main but only to the point where Fat Sam stops getting my praise as he has never produced another style. A few nice touches from Okocha aside (and Djorkaeff) and what evidence is there that Sam can do anything else?
Far more kudos to Coyle, Di Matteo, Holloway etc imo

Nah disagree, You say they will keep their teams up without too much danger, maybe 10 years ago not now. If Blackburn stuck with Allardyce they were going down, losing 7-1 and then a local derby and your team plays shite football cant argue with the owners wanting more. Blackburn fans also seem to be happy he's been sacked.
Blackpool play cracking football, they ARE fantastically motivated but they play attacking football and dont give a shit about reputations. They play a high temp, high pressing game which is working wonders for them atm.
Ill give you the point about the owners having to put a bit of money to improve the quality of football but the team he has now does have the ability to string 5 passes together.
Oh and he's fergies bum chum which pisses me right off

There's a big difference between new owners coming in and changing manager because they don't like his style which is totally acceptable to sacking a manager who'd done a good job and replacing him with a manager who has done nothing to suggest he's better than the man he replaced other than he's the owners mate, not really sure how it's even close tbh.
know idea what that means or what your trying to say

Blackburn are a small club, small crowds and shit players. Unless they spend vast amounts and get lucky with the people they bring in this will not change. Allardyce saved them when he came in and has been rewarded by some dillusional owners with the sack. Good luck Blackburn the only way is down.

This could be out-dated info, but don't Blackburn have the highest ratio of attendance to town/City population?

that's true, and its why buying the club has less upside than buying a club down on its luck where attendances could rocket if the city became energised.

They want a British manager who plays good football and get into the top 5. Who could they attract that gets close to fitting the bill?
Hoddle? McClaren? Hughes? O'Driscoll?

I was thinking the other day, I've not heard a word or seen him since he left Villa, vanished!
