Oh yeah, buy-ins.

As players of all levels will probably be playing I'd suggest either we all state a maximum buy-in we're willing to play and the buy-in for each match will be the lower of the two players' stated maximums. Or we just allow each pairing to decide prior to each game.

I'd chance $10 per game Smiley

If you are doing it as a comp on stars it will be a single entry, it will be a knockout (no group stages as you hoped), all on the same night, all first round games starting at the same time. Ironside used hs Points to set up a blonde one years ago, a lot of fun.

The Duke's just had a play on Stars and, as you say, it's suited to a multi-player, heads up tourney. Trying to use it for the format I was hoping for would be a logistical nightmare!

How about we have one of these multi-player Stars tourneys one night between Christmas & New Year?

I think the only realistic, practical option for the format I propose is heads-up cash tables.

I'd like to do both as separate entities - perhaps have the winner of each meet in a Grand Final?

Thoughts appreciated...

I think you are making it more difficult for yourself than it has to be?

I'm not set on a particular course - we'll do what's deemed to be the fave - at the mo it seems to be the one-off Stars tourney. It'll deffo be easier.

Just thought the group/knockout format would be fun but unfortunately doesn't seem to be feasible.

Okay, a concensus seems to be forming that a one-off, knockout, heads-up tourney is the way to go.

How does Tuesday 28th December at 8pm sound? $10+1 buy-in?

I'll wait for a few more comments then get it set-up.
