Randomly was talking about this to someone the other day. What he described sounded just like it. Can be caused by irregular sleep patterns and excessive alcohol, both of which applied here lol. Quite common in that most people will experience it at least once.

Great diary Sir, been reading it since joining Blonde.

I've had sleep paralysis for 15 years or so.  Used to have it really bad but luckily it's much less frequent these days.  In basic terms it's your head waking up before the rest of your body.  The first few times it happens it can freak you out a little, especially as one of the most common symptoms is a heavy chest and trouble breathing.  For certain people, myself included, part of your brain is in REM sleep and your dreams merge with reality inducing hallucinations.

Either way you're awake but you can't move.  I've found the best way to fully 'wake' is to concentrate on moving a small part of your body (little finger or toe) and as soon as you get that going the rest of your body soon catches up.  It's normally brought on by stress and/or heavy drinking but can come on without either.

Hoped this has helped a little, send me a message if you want any other info.

This is sort of what I wanted to see, someone who has experienced it.

Had something simliar sounding a few years back, and again recently, maybe 3 weeks ago. It was all a bit bizarre. And for no real reason either it seems.

Welcome to blonde!
