My first poker trip to Vegas, happened thanks to Chompy, I went once more after that, but haven't been since.
Sadly, chompy retired from poker recently, for good, well, for the foreseeable future anyway. He def won't be back in Vegas til 2012. That's fair enough. I did a bit of gentle encouraging etc, go on it'll be fun, go on, I'll play golf with you etc etc. But nope, It didn't work, he wasn't for turning, and I respect that in a person, I have heard people say, I'm retired, I'm not coming to poker again, poker is ghey, Vegas is ghey, only for them to change their mind, the next day, or week. But no, not chompy, If he has retired, then he really has retired. If he says he won't be in Vegas til 2012, then he won't be in Vegas til 2012. He really is a man of his word.
It's a real shame, but I respect him for sticking to his word.
We will miss you chompy. Really sorry you won't be joining us in Vegas mate.
Maybe you will have changed your mind, and we can all go in 2012 eh?

Yup, amen to that. Proper man of his word, that Chomps.
If he says something, he means it.
No chance WHATSOEVER of him showing his face in Vegas this week. Or sharing a bed with me on Saturday.

Sometimes, especially times like this, I wish, for just once, he would drop his great principles, and say, fk it, I'm booking a flight, and coming out.
It's just not chompy's style though.
Fkin legend.
Respect to him.

I once tried to take a 'break' from poker and lasted about a week. I lost respect for myself in that time.
Glad that Chompy has shown what a real man is made of and stood his ground.
