Update of the last week to come, drove over 1000 miles, played some poker, ate a fair bit, and a huge sigh post to top the year off.

As Christmas day's go, this one was OK. Woke up at 8am for some reason, which obviously too much for me, so went back to sleep at 11 til 1. Went over to my sister's via the cemetry to pick my dad up, and we went to the burd's for dinner. Afterwards, I took him back, and spent the rest of the night trying to stay awake lol.
Glad it's all over for another year.

Spent most of Boxing day asleep, getting up just in time for dinner at my sister's with her in-laws. Made my excuses before dessert and left, dropped my dad off, went home and got changed for Luton. Picked the pretty one up on the way. I like him a lot, he has a lot of sensible things to say about poker, and so much easier to understand than his mad, although awesome tourney reports.
Grinded the comp for 6 hours, was going well before losing a big flip with QQ v AK and didn't really recover, eventually shoving A4dd into 66 and somehow not getting there. The two cash games were full at 2.15, with a few names on the list, so decided to call it an early night and go home. That's the beauty of being able to play whenever you want, it takes all the pressure of feeling I have to play because I am there etc. The feeder game didn't look too great, so hopefully I didn't miss much.

Have decided to skip the big long sigh post, I could write for hours about what has gone on, I could debate whether I'm right or wrong, claypole has told me I'm wrong, I sorta get it, but in other ways I don't. A long story short then, I have had a series of rows with my dad. Came to a head last night on the phone whilst I was at Luton waiting for the cash game to start, where I said to him, and I quote "As far as I'm concerned, you are dead. Do not fucking contact me again"
Pretty strong words, but it's how I feel. I'm not proud of what I said, but it came at the end of a huge build up of tension and frustration at him. He is not prepared to listen to what my sister and I are saying to him. He just wants to do what makes him happy, regardless of how that affects his children. In that case, he can get on with it. I've done all I can to support him on a daily basis. From now on that finishes. He is on his own.
A shit end to 2011, but fk it, 2012 is gonna be great. i just know it.
Have a good NYE everyone, I hate it
but am gonna go have some dinner and have an early night hopefully.
Hope you all have a great 2012. xx

Tuesday we went to Aldeburgh, in Suffolk. Right by the sea, the burd's sister had rented a house down there for a week,
a communication
breakdown
somewhere
meant we were on our way home about 5ish. Was OK tho, had a chilli burger & chips at this supposedly well known chippy where I had to queue outside for 25 mins to get served. WTF? Was nice to be fair, just don't like the idea of all that queuing. In a way, I wish stayed in Aldeburgh, ended up going to Stanley's for their £50 £1k gtd ftw comp, busting two tables out. This was followed by another rough cash session, -£468, people keep getting there, and I keep not getting there. Standard obv, doesn't mean I have to like it.
Love that expression. Have inserted some some gaps between the lines, to assist Jase.
Have a great 2012 mate.

Back from Somerset on Thursday, quick change and straight into the car for a cash session at Luton. Didn't run particulary well and ended up at 9.45am on friday morning -£449. Discussed a few things with one of my backers who gave me some advice, which I took on board, and went into last night's session feeling good. Bluffed £80 off in the first hand, which actually settled me, and eventually left at 5.45 this morning £381+ Despite the downswing I'm still loving it, I can't think of anything else I would rather be doing. Pizzled & Sir Donks are now pro roulette players, screaming like girls when they break even etc, but poker >>> roulette IMO.
Actually we screamed like girls when the break even +£2K rolled in..anyway gav screams like a girl... im more Bass

Happy New Year all, It was very nearly a VERY happy new year for me yesterday at DTD, but it just wasn't to be. WIll post a tourney report tonight or tomorrow, but need to do an update before I forget what I have been doing. It's mainly poker & eating, but I like to keep track of what I have been up to.

Got straight back into the poker on New Years day, had had a few rough sessions and needed to get back on track. Quickly lost my first buy in, mainly due to a river bluff that saw me get called by 3rd pair
Managed to get up to 600+ then found a guy that was unbluffable, and for some reason, he wa starting to tilt me, which is weird, as I don't normally tilt. Decided that a £402 profit was better than a loss, and got off about 3am.
Had two short sessions of DC, quite liked it, but won't be moving over to that any time soon, made a net profit of £54, seems to be a hell of a lot of big pots, mainly chopped or three quartered. More interesting that Hold em, that's for sure.

unlucky at the weekend vin - always annoying being on the wrong side of those hands, but would make up for all the times when it's not at the business end of a big game if they just held those few times. reckon a big score ain't far off for you.

Played my first comp of the new year too, the Stanley's £100 deepstack, sure played well. Won the first pot of the night, then lost every other one from there on in, was going ok til I raised with JQ, pizzled calls from the BB, I bet the A K 10 flop, he calls, I bet the 4 turn, he calls, He leads the K on the river, I call. Sneaky fker had KK!! Call yourself a friend?
Then I refused to fold AA on a 997 board, and was down to 8 bigs. Squeezed Q8ss and lost A 10. gg me.
Three levels nearly, not the best start.

Thanks claw, is a bit frustrating, but to give it some balance, I was absolutely gifted 1 million chips in a couple of hands, so who knows?, I might not have been anywhere near the last ten had it not been for that. Swings & Roundabouts, at the end of the day, yes, the money would have been life changing for me, but in the grand scheme of things, It really doesn't matter innit.

Now started going to a private cash game, nice crowd of people, plenty of money flying around, a mix of standard. On the first night there, I managed to lose a £1200 pot with AK<KK<10 10 aipf, then a £950 pot with AK on a K 9 2 K board v 22. Then folded QQ pre in what would have been a 4way all in for almost 2k, was the wrong fold by me, just couldn't see that I was ahead at the time tho. Despite all that, I managed to finish £250+. Ship the 100% win rate for 2012

With make up now almost wiped out, I went to Luton with confidence restored. Maybe a mistake? I don't know. I found myself in a 1k hole, ridic for a cash game at Luton IMO, I can't even remember how I knocked it in, well I probably could, maybe my brain is now immune to it? There were certainly no big coolers that's for sure, just seemed to never have the best hand at showdown, and that's not really a good thing IMO.
Ended up grinding 3 hours to get it back to -£539 then the game broke. Was pleased in a way, but not in another. Had 4 or 5 experts on the table that wanted to give analysis on every hand, and declare their hand at the end of every pot which was very annoying as they had folded pre. GG the 100% win rate.

Back to the private game on the 5th, was £600- at one point, turned it around to £300+ and finished £20+ Excellent!
Got 4 sessions booked this week, which I am really looking forward to. Really want & hope to get out of make up this week. I have no pressure on me to do so, but I just like it when I'm not trying to clear up the mess first. Good luck me!

Thursday, I had my gym induction. Several hot instructors at the gym, and Neil, a pretty boy, muscled lad, a bit like the Sicilian wants to be if you know what I mean.
I of course got Neil to show me round. Run bad at the gym ffs. He showed me the rowing machines, cycling, and the treadmill. Then he disappeared for 15 mins, and I was stood around like a lemon, so I thought, fk it, I have seen enough to get me going, I'm out of here. Any excuse!
Gonna start going properly from Wednesday, assuming I wake up in time. I really need to get myself into a proper routine. This time, I'm more determined than ever to lose some weight. Gtd fail then.
Just gonna start with some cardio and light weights, and see how that goes for a month. Will change my diet slightly too, well, quite a lot. Cutting down ftw.
