Last thursday I went back to the private cash game, still confident that I can turn the defecit around. I think I got off to a decent start, then slowly gave it back. Decided enough was enough when, in for £600, I called a raise multi way with JQ, Everyone checked the K 9 3 flop, saw the lovely 10 on the turn, I check called £35 leaving £115 back, and jammed the K river heads up. The guy asked how much, then called, announcing two pair, before flipping KK for a 'comedy' slow roll.

Time to call it a night I think.

My final poker for the week was the £100 f/o at Luton on friday night.

Quick chinese at the secret noodle bar with 77dave, which I paid for! Was followed by me sitting in the Casino restaurant with Shaun WPT Claypole while he ate stinky fish.

Played Kings really well, or really badly, depending how you look at it, on a K A 3 5 8 board, I managed to check call the river. Was v a guy who really telegraphed his hand, I almost folded the river, but I woulda felt too dirty, so went for the call option. I sighed when he turned over AA. Wish I had folded now..

A bluff later that nearly worked v the hookie bookie, and I was re-entering, as there was no cash game yet. Played really well and bulit up a nice chip stack, got slightly damaged with Shuan WPT Claypole peeling from the BB with A5o and getting there v A10. Made the final with 20 bigs and found 88 in the SB and ran it into KK in the BB. Left me with 3 bigs which WPTClaypole managed to get off me with Q7 v my A2. 6th place for a small profit on the night. He did get absolutely owned heads up by a girl in a suit, so I felt a lot better. In fairness, he played well, especially in the first level when he got KK in pre and managed to get a call from AK & AA, and treble up. WPTClaypole runs good.

Monday I decided to try for a spin up to get the £220 for the Sky Poker comp at Luton next week. Sure worked! Got clever with AA v Scotty77's KK and he made triplets, then a house. Meanwhile on the other table I was getting it in with AK v 10 10 and couldn't make a pair. At least I was being consistent with my form. Then tried the satelite which saw me getting it in rather foolishly with AK and couldn't get there v KQ. Sigh. Nevermind. It's only poker innit?

It gets worse. Sorry.

But it gets a bit better before it gets worse, so it's not all bad.

Tuesday was back to the private game. The normal wild game was very quiet. Was a real grind, for the whole night/morning. I left there with a £275 profit, it felt like a million. It stopped the rot, even if it was only gonna be temporarily, but I didn't know that at the time.

Wednesday I played the Wankers Wed comp again, was a great starting table, everyone was an expert, and were kindly giving loads of free advice, which was nice. Got moved and on the last hand of Level 3 I got 30 bigs in with AKss v 99. I managed to expertly avoid making a pair, straight or flush on a 345ss flop. That takes some doing IMO.

Headed straight into the cash game which was just about to start. Still really confident despite my recent losses. Got off to an OK start, then lost a bit, lost a flip, and reloaded. Got back up to £500 then had a disaster. Ended up a disgusting £1200 down and gave up. Majority of the money went with QQ v KK, AK v QQ on a KQxxK board, though it went in on the flop, K7 v J9 on a K7310Q board, the money went in on the turn, KJ v AA in a unraised pot, board was KJ43 when the money went in. My personal favourite was A4HH all in on a 8107hhh flop v . To be fair, he had two outs, and only hit one of them, and it was on the turn, so no river pain etc.

I make light of it, as I'm not really the type to moan about bad beats or coolers or whatever they are called, but it does hurt, I have to account for the money I'm knocking in, and some of the stuff might sound like fairy stories etc, but it's all true. It will turn though.

My final part of the poker update is a WIN!

Great game tonight, bit swingy, which I really need to address, but they sort of played themselves, might just make a note of all the hands I'm playing in a session and get analysis of them from some decent cash game players. If not, then I could always ask Scotty or Greeky to have a look at them. Wink Can only help. Managed to get out +415. Only 3 trillion to go before I'm out of make up!

My favourite moment of the day was getting a phone call from one of the guys that stakes me. He knew I smashed in £1200 last night. He asked what my plans were for tonight, I said I wasn't sure. He said I should go to the private cash game as I had a 100% win rate there.. this week. Nice rub. Cheesy

Still no progress with my dad. I went over there last week to pick something up, I can't even bring myself to speak to him, as it will just end up in a row probably, then he will decide he is right, and I will do the same. It's madness. I can't back down though.

My sister feels the same, and has tried to speak to him, but with no joy. She has suggested we go together to speak to him. Doubt that will achieve anything, but may give it a go. We'll see.

Mulhuzz on the buses thread made me realise I haven't mentioned Celtic for a while.

Big turnaround. 15 point defecit at the beginning of November. Now 2 points ahead. Love it when it's like this. Heading for another helicopter Sunday. Boba Frett will be disappointed this time. Hopefully.
