Drove to Cambridge to see my Mum yesterday, had a really nice evening with her, we skyped Bobby and got all his news from Oxford. The "Out of the blue" group he's in now is taking up a huge amount of his spare time. He has very little spare time as it is because all the work he has to do is so much harder for him because of his eyes. He said yesterday it takes him an hour to read three pages of text in a book and that he's totally exhausted afterwards. Imagine all the reading he has to do for an Oxford degree? My heart sank when I heard that.
He's coped amazingly well in the past, and has tons of technology helping him, such as computers to read aloud to him - but that only helps a bit - he says it's not always easy to take it in or understand because the naturally "wrong" intonation and flow of the sentences that the computer produces and he says his friends can just skim read pages at a time - they've got a knack for knowing what paragraphs are going to be useful etc so can just skim loads, which he can't do at all. It's all going to be pretty tough for him I think.
And he's thrown himself head first into the Out of the blue thing, he was busy writing an arrangement of (wait for it) JLS "Hottest girl in the world" for them to sing! He said ITV (or someone can't remember) are paying them £15k to sing two christmas carols BACKWARDS for an advert for a new Freeview service that sounds basically just like Sky+ (I might have the details wrong there). So they have to sing We Wish You A Merry Christmas, but sing it as Samtsirhc yrrem A uoy hsiw ew! And all the notes backwards of course!
He says it's really hard, but the money is going to pay for their tour to Fiji and the USA!
I'm slightly annoyed to be awake right now, I've been trying to get my sleeping pattern on normal time so I can be on the same pattern as Victoria for my time in Estonia, because it's incredibly tilting not being able to sleep at night and just lying there wide awake like I was for chunks last time. And then you're dozy in the daytime when you wanna be awake. It's incredibly frustrating and I've tried to prepare this time by going to sleep earlier and earlier for the last week. Today I went to sleep at 11pm and at 1am I'm wide awake and doubt I'll get back to sleep for ages now. Pretty big problem for me since I started playing poker to be honest, I've never really solved it. Even if I grind through the day feeling like shit I still can't sleep properly at night. Might get some sleeping pills at some stage.

Do the university offer him any support with regards to his reading and are they aware of how hard it is for him. Is it practical for him to be able to pay for someone to read to him as an hour to read 3 pages is a massive obstacle to over come.
Being in Out of The Blue sounds very exciting and will open up further opportunities for him in the future. I assume he hopes to be a member for all his duration at Oxford, am I right in thinking that there will be some guys in their final year so will be leaving the group in the summer?

Alex, exercise can help with your sleeping patterns. If that doesn't help, get some melatonin.

Isn't the young lady that is drawing you to Estonia a Casino Dealer with a body clock that may well be attuned to similar hours to your own?
Regardless I may be old, but I'm far from dead, and would be happy to be up all night on a romantic trip to see a pretty girl who gets me and what I do. At your age I'd have been ecstatic.

Yea, herbal remedy really works. There are some side effects with this option thou so before use I would clear the house of bags of peanut m&m, fun size snickers, and cheesy puffs. No good being able to sleep well if you put on couple of stone in the process.

Having the most incredible time in Tallinn. Have spent two nights in a nearby town called Rakvere, in a spa hotel doing extremely manly things such as getting massages of all sorts, facial treatments, lots of swimming and jacuzzis and sauna's. Feeling like I need to play some sport or drive a tank or something soon, or just have some good old fashioned man talk!
Russians (estonians but whatever) are fkn hard bastards btw, we were in the hottest sauna out of 4 (100degrees) and it was pretty fkn hot, but fine, until this guy literally just threw a bucket of water on the coal and I felt like I was going to die and he just sat there and took it. Then threw more on, oh my god, I had to run out lol!
Jumped straight in the outdoor icepool - which sounds cold at the best of times, but in Estonia, in November, it was (struggling for superlatives at 3am) very cold!
Anyway, that's not why it's been amazing, got ripped by the boys and a DTD valet lol for my cheesy post last time, so I'll just say that I'm having the best time with her and don't really wanna come back! Shame she lives here tbh, would be more convenient if she lived in Nottingham imo.

Something very similar happened to me in a sauna once......it is the most embarassing thing in the world to have to get out because it is too hot but sometimes you just have to. I love the rush you get when you jump in the ice pool though.

Hardest sauna man in the world is Surrindar Sunar and I doubt its even close. He is hard as nails and can sit there for ages after everyone else has got out and jumped in the jacuzzi trying to look cool.

Indians don't count, that is their normal climate
But seriously, I worked in a gym for 2 years after uni and went in most days, enjoyed the steam room but was a pussy at dealing with the heat in the sauna.

Just been to see Seven Psychopaths at the cinema. Not laughed like that in the cinema for ages, one of the funniest films I've ever seen - defo go and see it when it comes out in the UK (Dec 7th - weird that Estonia gets it like a month before we do lol). It's got Colin Farrell in who is sick good, similar sort of film to In Bruges in fact. But wayyy better.
I misclicked my flights home (first time i've ever done that, in b4 mislick [ ]) and I'm actually flying home Monday instead of Sunday which is kinda annoying cos I have to skip sunday.
My body is absolute clockwork over here, go to sleep at 11pm, wake up between 1am and 130am every night without fail lol, and then can't sleep again until about 5am. Sleep until about 10 or 11 ish. She sleeps through the whole night like a normal person.
So the plan is tomorrow to just grind the supersonic and turbos everywhere and late reg everything I can! #Sundayfunday
