Perhaps not to be honest, really up for the grind right now. Undecided, it also depends on whether the others stay out here. Keith went home today, PJ and Mitch going home on Monday I think cos they're not playing EPT, so I'm unlikely to stay here on my own. Also there's a vague plan to see my belarussian friend soon too...

Answers to Aaron's questions:

Q1 - Alex, you have got a little grumpy here, can see why, but is this down to a bit of a bad run generally? Simply, yes.

Q2 - You are pretty open about different things, poker, money, lifestyle, so wondering how horses are generally doing here? Like others have said, unfair to comment specifically, but PJs 30k bink in July is making up for a few downswings let's just say.

Q3 -Also not long ago you was saying you X amount in the bank, which for me is not ideal to be bragging about on an open forum.. But would you not think about doing something business wise with the money, whilst playing poker? You have a fair amount of money to be making more money (away from poker) & play poker at same time! You not thought about investing somewhere different?

A possible different avenue for new year?

Don't remember ever saying I have X in the bank? Not something I could ever imagine saying, I never discuss my roll with anyone except really close friends let alone on a public forum.

I did think about doing something business wise with the money yes...Let's just say I need a better idea next time and need a lot more experience to attempt anything like that again. I like to have all my money "working" for me, and have about half my net worth tied up in shares in really solid FTSE100 companies that are basically never going broke and always gonna make a small steady return over a 10 year period (famous last words!) So that's my form of more stable income and I use the rest of the money for my bankroll, staking roll and liferoll. I don't have any excess cash to be thinking about new ventures sadly! If something really cool came up then I could sell shares, but I don't see it happening soon.

PS - Feel free not to answer any Cheesy Cheesy

There is a Monte Carlo at Dtd next week. You can back Wadey Rastafish and yourself, at the expense of your 3 least profitable horses. Would you do it?

So the question is who I think would make more money long term playing a DTD monte carlo, me, wadey and rastafish OR x,y,z of my horses?

Pretty hard to answer actually. We (our group) argue a lot over how good wadey and rastafish are. There's one camp that says it's just mathematical certainty that given a group of bad players, there's always going to be a few that run way better than the others, and indeed better than good players. For example take 100 "bad" players and 100 good players and put them in a few years worth of live tournaments at DTD. It's not at all unlikely that the player that makes the most money out of that group in that sample is one of the bad players. In fact, all the top 5 winners could be bad players. We've done the tournament variance thing to death on here anyway.

The other side of the coin (and one I tend to argue for) is that they have tons of things about their game that make them very good in those tournaments and these things make up for the other things they don't do so well, such as limping J2s utg and peeling raises of 8 bbs with 45s Tongue. I'm not lumping Wadey and Rastafish in the same category either, since both have different strengths and weaknesses.

Basically I don't know is the answer to your question. But since it's a bore to not answer it I will. I like to be in control of my own destiny (and I also think I'm good at DTD Monte Carlos Tongue) so I'll go for Me, Wadey and Rastafish Cheesy

Was your table stacked all day with Timex, Toby and whoever else or were there soft spots during the day?

How different was it to playing the mid - late stages of a DTD 500 or 1k, physically/mentally more draining? Obviously games a lot different with every steal spot being taken, did you expect the day to be a 3/5b affair and was it like that?

How did drawing that flip feel after you flopped and were turned in front for your biggest 'equity' beat compared to the AA<66 beat the other day Tongue

Sorry for all the questions, think they are somewhat interesting at least and congrats on day 3 and best of luck to yourself and investors (y)!

Yeh it was a really really interesting days play. From the first level I thought everyone on my table was really good. All very confident, aggressive, good bet sizes. Was thinking it was going to be tough to make chips and I'd have to basically hit the deck a bit. But as the day went one and I saw a few showdowns, I realised that they actually weren't much good and except for Timex, it wasn't that hard. I mean, they weren't easy to play against at all, but I adjusted after a while and found ways to exploit pretty much all of them in one way or another. edit: Toby only came to my table for the last level or two, he was obv in the vtough category not the other one!

It was totally different to a DTD comp of course, and yes much more mentally draining and challenging, but in a good way really. It felt amazing being deep in a comp like this and feeling like one of the better players that was still in. It was very preflop orientated to a certain extent, but since most players were 60+ bbs deep, it didn't get allin pre much at all, it was more playing lots of 3 and 4 bet pots post flop, which is pretty interesting.

That AK=TT flip vs Timex was a pretty massive moment for me of course, and the emotional swings during the hand were pretty incredible if I'm honest. I would've been really gutted to lose the flip and even more so if he'd binked the offsuit ten on the river! It would've been worse than the AA<66 hand for sure! When the ten came down I thought I'd lost for a second and I just remember thinking "oh my god that's so sick" for a split second and then realising and being extremely relieved. Then a bit annoyed that I hadn't knocked him out for double average! Then I was alright again because I was still in with a healthy stack!

Think that's all the questions answered, I have written notes for a TR so will be able to do a 3 part report on all the hand I played which I'll put here at some point. It will be a little tl;dr and I imagine most will just ignore it, but I kind of want a record of it for my own benefit and I hope some people will appreciate it anyway.

Allin pre's happen so fast you don't get the same rush as when you're in a hand playing the streets. I think the most exciting moment actually was midway on day two, playing a pot with a highstakes cash game pro from Prague who was really good I was told, where I rivered a boat with 66 on 92276 and checked the river to him. Those seconds where I've hit the gin card and am waiting to see what he does, my heart was racing like I've never felt it before (similar to when I was 5800m above sea level on a volcano in Peru actually! There was like no oxygen so my heart felt like it was going to explode!). Then when he bets and I have to be dead composed and say allin then sit there like a statue while he tanks - was an incredible adrenaline rush - it felt amazing.

This comp really reignited my love for poker actually.
