Backraises and limp raises should be banned from all card rooms! They are the height of bad manners and immorality!

And 4bets with less than kings. Norrrr. It's fine to pretend you have a good hand. That's part of the game duh. But to limp or call representing a weaker hand, and then raising to represent a strong hand is just RUDE AND IMMORAL.

I was under the impression that a backraise was just a standard 3b. A New York Backraise is a flataraise then reraise?

Known as "sand-bagging" in parts of North America and not allowed in some card-rooms. Well that used to be the case back in the day..

a proper sandbag is to chk/raise all three streets and get called and win on the end!
Abso gangster line no idea how you could ever possibly do it though - someone tried to do it to me once in a live game but luckily i had a full house and I won.

This would be more likely and a more reasoned play in limit Holdem. Love the phrase sandbagging
