Wow, Julian just got it all in with 5-5 against 8-8 on an 5-8-6 board against Barry Neville, turn's a 5 for quads....massive favourite now surely.

Julian joint chip leader, Alex shortstack, good chance to see how 2 strong players play their big & shortstacks respectively

@MtSpewmore I wouldn't normally try so hard, but didn't have another opportunity I could wait for. I wasn't ready to surrender what I WANTED SO MUCH, that easily, I couldn't guarantee a call with me staying stoic and relying on a flinch "top pair" calling reflex.

Laddered to 7th, got a double up to 16bbs, shoved btn over Ross' cutoff open with 98dd (pretty much worst hand I was shoving in that spot) and he had AK and held (flopped a fd for sweat but no joy).
Got £9.5k which is a nice amount of course, but bit gutted having been chip leader for 2days straight more or less.

Hi Alex, well done on the result, shame it wasn't higher but 9k easies the pain abit.
I was watching the live stream at the start of the day and one particular hand impressed me. The one where you held J9 and hit 2 pairs on the river. Was it an easy fold or did you just not want to tangle with another big stack?

Thanks Andrew.
It was reasonably easy fold since although I had two pair (J9 on 9872J) I could beat anything she was value betting and I didn't think she was bluffing ever in that situation. A year or two ago I might've frustratingly flicked in the call, because the hand was very annoying the way I knew id been rivered and how up-against it I knew she was on the turn when I had the flush draw as well. I was really pleased with the way I played the hand, raising the turn like the commentators said I should do would've been a really horrible play.

Think a good way to learn on these streams is do the exact opposite of what the commentators say.
